Not to be a disbeliever but pictures are NOT proof. If you own a 2023, pull the box cover where the wiring should be located: EMPTY. One can't plug a harness into an empty box and expect success. Further, the pictures showing the "20 - 23" hitch show the "20 - 22" hitch; the dealer parts departments do NOT have a '23 hitch available. That said, the 20 - 22 hitch will bolt up to the 23 but is not offered as a factory approved part. I took the time to offer what does work and is available as a service to others looking for a solution today. Simply, I have no time to respond to conjecture about pictures and plugs--if you want to tow with a '23, I provided a solution. If you want to explore ideas and hope for a Hyundai solution, sorry, I can't participate.

I looked through the accessories page for the Palisade and the tow hitch appears now as well as a 7-pin connector harness.
Yes, I see that Hyundai Canada is calling it a "7-pin" harness with pictures "coming soon". However, what I do not see, having actually looked at the wiring and connector on my own 2023 Calligraphy, is any real provision to accommodate trailer braking control via that so-called "7-pin" harness. Without that real braking control wiring provision (as opposed to merely nominal pin numbers) you can't tow anything over 1650 pounds, let alone 5000 pounds -- at least not safely and legally.

P.S.: I suppose I should acknowledge the existence of surge (a.k.a. hydraulic) brakes, mostly for boat trailers, but that's a whole different arrangement.

Hello friends. I just traded in my 22 Palisade for a 23 Palisade. I ended up buying a new tow hitch and tow hitch harness for my new vehicle just like I did for my 2022. Bought the same tow hitch I had on my old one and it works perfect. The only problem is that I can’t find where to connect my tow hitch harness. Anyone with the same issue? On the 22 model there was a plug behind the driver’s side rear bumper that was very easy to install. On this one, the harness doesn’t split.
Same problem here too!

It appears (not verified yet) that the 23s moved the connector to a spot behind the bumper and have a different plug. My XRT has that plug and all the fuses installed. Trying to get verification from dealer or hyundai that is the correct towing harness plug.

I am taking the vehicle in on Monday. I will post an update as soon as I find out why they sold me a vehicle that apparently didn't include a towing prep package. BTW, I don't see a transmission cooler either
The "prep" is there but it's up to you to finish it. That they (Hyundai) does not have the final harness though is kind of sad. And, I believe... the cooling capacity for towing is built in to the existing.

In a discussion with my wife Hyundai Customer Service was adament that it had the cooling and was prewired. She did not realize to ask them about the location of the plug. And it is more than sad. It has been difficult getting straight answers about this. The car is advertised and sold as being able to tow 5000 pounds. That is a big selling point. If you cannot do that with factory parts there is a problem. My wife was told that adding a 3rd party wiring may void the warranty. Of course I don't believe that if they have a plug-n-play option like was available on earlier models. Maybe the change was to get around the fire problem they were having. It seems like better information could calm a lot of people. As to the cooler you could be correct that the coolers they install are good enough. But every other vehicle I have researched or owned always had to add an additional cooler for towing.

Don't let up on these Hyundai people. I am demanding to get what I paid for!

has anyone considered suing Hyundai for false advertising or misrepresentation. their brochure says the 2023 Palisade across all models is trailer pre wired. Myself and it seems a few others on this form have the same problem of not having the car pre wired , and have to pay for third party for parts and installation

Huh? The car is pre-wired. You still have to buy the hitch and harness from the pre-wiring to the hitch. And a brake controller if what you tow is heavy enough.

The car is not pre-wired or anything else. I just spoke to a service rep at Hyundai. They are clueless but I insisted that they will make it right at no additional cost to us
If they're clueless, why do you believe them?

The Palisade is absolutely pre-wired. Just in case you don't know what that means: there is a wire harness running from the back of the car (accessible from under the car near the rear bumper) to the cabin, behind the dash (at knee height). You buy you hitch and a harness that connects from that hitch to the pre-wiring at the back of the car. In the cabin, you access the other end behind the dash to install a brake controller (that you also buy).

Someone posted a picture here: 2023 Trailer Hitch

What are supposed to do in the mean time? I planned to go camping. They advertised pre wired and it is not. Does it have the heavy-duty transmission oil cooler and the Trailer Sway Control which are standard across all models like the pre wire.

On my 2023 Palisade (and apparently on others who have posted on this site) there is no connecting cable coming off the brake harness that is " accessible from under the car near the rear bumper" on the driver side which is viewable when you remove the cover by removing the snap plugs and the two plastic nuts.

Even if you buy the wire harness there is nothing to it plug into.

I didn’t say driver side. In your other thread, someone responded to you that it is in the panel behind the passenger rear tire on 2023 models. Did you look there? Link to your other thread : 2023 Palisade not pre wired

I will certainly check behind the passenger tire tomorrow. But others are saying it is attached to the bumper near center of car. It would seem that Hyundai would like to have all this settled and could put out some information. I am scheduled to take it to dealer, but first available spot is Nov 2. The other dealer is scheduling in Jan. Wonder why it is so hard to get into the dealers.

They are looking into it. The only inclusion is the Tow button which does work. There is no wiring despite what some people think

Well I've had both Action Car and Truck and Hyundai Service confirm this to be true. Not sure why some people dispute this unless some cars have and some don't. I really doubt that Hyundai is THAT bad....

On the matter of taking legal action, I'd have to devote my retirement to taking wrong doers to court. There are just TOO many of them now. And no, I won't get into the collapse of our society in this post you'll be glad to hear.
