Same issue here. Dealer swapped my old tow hitch and put on my '23 but handed me the harness saying the old harness is incompatible.
Hello friends.
I just traded in my 22 Palisade for a 23 Palisade.
I ended up buying a new tow hitch and tow hitch harness for my new vehicle just like I did for my 2022.
Bought the same tow hitch I had on my old one and it works perfect.
The only problem is that I can’t find where to connect my tow hitch harness.
Anyone with the same issue?
On the 22 model there was a plug behind the driver’s side rear bumper that was very easy to install.
On this one, the harness doesn’t split.
My understanding since they recalled EVERY 20-22 Palisade is that the fault lies in the factory installed harness that is tucked up inside the bumper that the trailer harness then plugs into. I read an article that basically said crud and water can collect in the pre-installed harness which causes the short and fire risk.I'm trying to understand this recall. I've seen that is was "dealer installed" wiring harness, and I've also seen it was "all Palisades" due to the factory wiring that can accept a harness. Which is it? I hae a non-Hyundau hidden hitch with 7 pin harness that plugs into Hyundai's pre-wiring.
i am having the same problem and as we speak my vehicle is at the dealership and they are looking for the pigtail for the trailer. they told me if they can not find it they will have to go back to hyundai and find out why its not there when it is standard item on my 2023 palisade calligraphy.Hello friends.

With you on this one... dealer said avail sometime in October. I can wait and seems like a cool upgrade to be able to 'hide' the hitch.Sounds like you might have to buy the new one. I’m waiting till the one that goes behind the cover is released.
There is no wiring for 2023 yet unless you cut the wires and use generic harness. Not a good idea. I was able to get to the connection point inside on drivers side. It's easy to get to. Need to take back tray out and pull dust plug. Not a lot of play in wire to do much with. It is not the same place as previous years and with no harness yet nobody has done a video.i am having the same problem and as we speak my vehicle is at the dealership and they are looking for the pigtail for the trailer. they told me if they can not find it they will have to go back to hyundai and find out why its not there when it is standard item on my 2023 palisade calligraphy.
Just ordered mine the other day, expecting delivery Thursday. Thanks!Tekonsha 119250/119252. No cutting or splicing. Uses sensors to get signal. Works perfectly. Gives you the option to change out later if you want. I only needed 4 pin plug
. Where is the harness in the vehicle? I found one connector under the cargo area but not sure that is it/Tekonsha 119250/119252. No cutting or splicing. Uses sensors to get signal. Works perfectly. Gives you the option to change out later if you want. I only needed 4 pin plug
That's one expensive option.. interesting thoughTekonsha 119250/119252. No cutting or splicing. Uses sensors to get signal. Works perfectly. Gives you the option to change out later if you want. I only needed 4 pin plug
There is factory wiring or at least what looks like it on my car. It is attached to the rear bumper beside the passenger side reverse light. Here's the complete solution for a 23 model. There is NO factory wiring in the box in back of the left side rear wheel--EMPTY. My 2020 had the wiring but apparently the recall situation for Palisade trailer wiring (summer 2022 recall) resulted in the deletion of factory wiring plug. The kit in the attached picture gets the wiring fixed with no cutting. Do yourself a HUGE favor and buy the part and install from a trailer dealer--the part will be about the same price as online AND the installing dealer may warranty it. This is NOT an easy install--took the dealer over an hour: you must remove the tail lights and run a wire from the battery under the hood back to the tail lights. The hitch is a DrawTite 7620 which is marked as a 20-21 Telluride.
You'll notice that NO cutting was required to the bumper fascia. I wrestled with this problem since getting my 2023 Limited in July 23--I desperately needed the trailer (strange--Hyundai marketing shows the 23 Palisade towing a boat and the 2023 models all have the new tow mode setting). Hyundai doesn't even offer a hitch for the 23. In August 2023 Draw Tite added the 7620 to their list of hitches for the 2023 and boy, does it look a LOT better than the ugly factory hitch on the 20 - 22 models!
I included a copy of my install invoice for the whole story. If you live anywhere near (it's worth a 100 mile drive) my dealer, do yourself a favor and contact them for your install--incredibly helpful, friendly and competent! View attachment 7425

I looked through the accessories page for the Palisade and the tow hitch appears now as well as a 7-pin connector harness.Apart from the shape and positioning of the connector itself, there appears to be at least one other significant change in the tow prep wiring between my 2021 and 2023 Palisades. The one heaviest (30 amp?) wire that was present in the former is completely absent from the latter. That suggests to me that Hyundai has totally abandoned any attempt or claim of accommodation for 7-pin wiring and trailer braking. So how can they continue to claim towing capacity of up to 5,000 lbs for the 2023 Palisade as they do here?
