I've pulled that cargo area. There is no connector under that "pan and lid" on my 2023. I've gotten down to the bare metal.
I'm starting to think we are all talking about the same thing, but mid model year, they moved the connector under the bumper.
About 1.0-1.25" wide (from memory), thin white capped connector, small female pin holes?
It is here where the arrow shows. It is a white plug.

There is no wiring for 2023 yet unless you cut the wires and use generic harness. Not a good idea. I was able to get to the connection point inside on drivers side. It's easy to get to. Need to take back tray out and pull dust plug. Not a lot of play in wire to do much with. It is not the same place as previous years and with no harness yet nobody has done a video.
Not true 2023 palisade sports has 8 pin connector on driver side just under switches that allow seats to fold down it’s a 8 pin that matches 8 pin for harness you can buy from a Canadian dealer Just got mine plugged it on tied up the ground and hid box and boom got trailer lights I didn’t do the brake circuit but it’s in the kit if u need it. Take cargo box out then standing facing front of vehicle look left right where big grommet isolates wire where old 8 pin was (white fabrics on it) Put ur fingers in there and fish it out it was easy if u can get the Hyundai harness

The 4 pole connector is easy it’s right above the area that old trailer connector was on left side ,inside under cargo area where jack is.just pop caps remove 4 screws and remove cargo carrier. Then look on driver side you will see some white tape and foam the 8 pin is there reach in and pull it out. It doesn’t come out far. This is for the factory connector from Hyundai
It’s plug and play the only connection u need is ground in my case Intiednit under a seat bolt rather than tear everything up that they want you to do and I just tucked there box in a cubby hole neat the driver side tail light.
It only come with 7 pin and you must follow there path to get plug near the hitch by cutting grommet. The instructions could have been better but after you poke around it becomes easy. Now if you want a trailer brake controller then a heavy gauge wire runs from battery to rear a bit bigger job. I did not even disconnect the battery it works beautifully.
Canada dealer had my kit it ends in AC800

If you got the Hyundai part from Canada it came with the plug for a trailer brake controller. No need to run any additional wires. It plugs in under dash in front of fuses and you connect your brake controller to to it. Easy. All wiring for brakes and power are there already in the back. At least they were for mine. If you are getting any power back there check to make sure fuse was not pulled before running any wires.

I have a post with some vids and pics of how I installed mine. I have a 7pin to 4pin adapter coming shortly that I will plug in and test to see if I need to mess with the fuses:

Great job!
Thank you very much for taking your time to explain, and video with pics, the process.
This will be a great help for all of us DIY owners looking to get this Hyundai fiasco over with!

When I spoke to the Canadian Hyundai Parts Pro, they told me that NO brake controllers are needed with the 2023 Palisades. He said that all you need is the harness and it is already wired to the drivers brakes and when you brake the vehicle...it will automatically brake the trailer without any adjustments needed by a controller. Is this true? Has anyone tried using the OEM harness with trailer brakes yet?

The instructions that come with the harness actually have details on how to connect the break controller.

That is so strange that he told me that it didn't need a brake controller. Was there one included in the box with the harness? I was looking at getting the bluetooth wireless brake controller before he told me not to.
Break controller is not included with the harness.
Sometimes dealers will say things that are blatantly false.

100% false.

you need a brake controller, without it you only have brake/tail lights and turn signals.

aside from that. even if it was hot wired to apply the trailer brakes without a controller, how would you manage to control the trailer brakes separately to manage cross winds and sway. that is why brake controllers have a manual trailer brake control switch, so you can apply the trailer brakes separate from the vehicle brakes in the event of a swaying or fishtailing trailer.

The sales guy doesn't understand. The trailer wiring control the lights. The controller controls the electric brakes on the trailer. If the trailer is light enough it won't have brakes and you won't need a controller.

On the bottom of a "pillar" on the left rear corner of that cargo area is a hidden white connector. It's pushed underneath another harness that goes through a large3 grommet to underneath. the car. I just got my harness this afternoon and did some recon. By the way, the non-Canadian version is a AC700. If anybody has a PDF of the instructions, I'd appreciate it. The q-code on the package provides no info.

I only have the Canadian version of the wiring harness. If you'd like, I can make a PDF of it and post it.
