I installed mine yesterday. The car-side white connector was a little tight for my liking I just made sure there wasn’t a strain on it after connecting. The rest was fine. I just went through it step by step. I zip tied my 7-pin up behind the bumper. My hitch install is at the end of the week and my brake controller is on the way so no front connect yet.
What hitch did you go with? OEM or aftermarket?
Which brake controler?

It’s going to be the Curt from U-Haul and the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty. I went with that because it can be mount in any orientation and with just the adjustment knob in view as opposed to the whole module.
Thanks, I'll look at that break controler.
I'm holding out for the OEM hitch and bumper cover combo so it all fits up higher and inside the bumper. May be October, but....

HARNESS AND HITCH AVAILABILITY - USA!

The Hyundai USA site listed the 2023 Palisade harness last Wednesday and the instruction sheet. Says the hitch is not available until Fall '23. The harness install sheet is listed there for download and it shows the PN's for the hitches as well. hyundaiaccessories.com (Listed the new harness PN S8F67-AC700)

I found several USA Hyundai parts sites showing the new harness S8F67-AC700 and S8F61-AU300 Hitch Calligraphy with bumper cover for sale. I canceled the S8F67AC800 Canadian harness I had on order and ordered the USA version part number last Wednesday and it is delivering to my home tomorrow (Monday 8/14/23) hyundaipartsdeal.com

Knowing the hitch is not available yet S8F61-AU300, figured I'd get my name on one anyway. Ordered it too via hyundaipartsdeal.com Sales contacted me and said not in production till October and I asked to keep it on order and they did. Two days later, they canceled my order stating the PN is not valid. Unless there will be a PN revision, Im guessing they do not want or cant order a not yet in production part number. So, I will keep checking each week to see if it can be ordered or if there is a new PN.

Hope all this helps.

What are you using for an inside brake controller?

I ordered the one ChuckM mentioned in a reply to me above. I ordered it and a universal harness. Should be here end of the week and I'll mount it and mount the button where the TOW button would be on the AWD Palisades.

Redarc Brake Controller Love how it can mount in any direction vs others.
Redarc Brake Universal Harness Save me from making 4 terminal connections on the factory 4pin brake power harness and plug into controller. Solder the OEM harness bare wires to this Redarc harness, heat shrink tube them, and Plug/Plug. Done. .

Installed today the S8F67-AC700 4pin/7pin Trailer harness 2023 Palisade. Took 1.5 hrs total.
Honestly, pulling the rear jack compartment out, the sill plate, and popping open the two left trim panels was fairly straight forward. The trick was sorting the best way to run the harness through the OEM rubber grommet. I modified it slightly more than the directions.

First, the white 8 pin harness plug above the rubber gromet just inside the trim panel, was there under a piece of white padding. The white connector was taped with athletic type tape to the harness that runs to the rubber plug. I felt around inside and the white plug's harness had no slack. I was afraid to un-tape it and have it shrink back inside the panel and cause stress once the new harness was plugged into it. So, I left it taped and plugged the new harness into it as it was.

The rubber plug lifts out of the body metal hole quite easily. The rubber is very, very soft. I opted to drill the gromet with a 1/2 hole and then use tin snips to cut the gromet from the edge to the hole. This allowed for a better fit of the harness vs it spreading the cut too wide. There is only 3\4 inch room to drill the hole between the harness already running through it and the lip of the gromet that the body metal fits into. You'll see I drilled the hole fairly close to the harness already going through the grommet. There is no way the new harness can somehow rub against the metal body panel.

I then installed the 7pin plug harness through the gromet. To maximize the amount of harness going to the hitch, the new harness is inserted through the gromet so just 1 inch of the convoluted plastic tube is protruding into the trunk area. I connected everything inside the trunk first and then pulled it tight to make sure I maximized that length going to the bumper. That allowed me to RTV seal the gromet to the plastic tubing vs the cloth covering.

Lastly, I did not photograph the RTV application to both sides. I'm sure you can sort that out. Though, work the gromet and squeeze it some to minimize the gap in the cut before sealing with RTV.

When the Redarc brake controller arrives this week, I'll take some photos of the install as well.

Zip tie the new harness to the harness in the gromet and tuck everything up and inside panel

The OEM zip tie mounted on the stud, to reuse it, I released the zip portion and flipped it around so I could remount it to the same stud one the nut was tightened. Then install the Zip ties per the instructions.

Ground wire and module harness tied to the original harness.

White 8pin plug and fused connectors tucked back in place.

To have enough slack for the 7pin plug to mount to the OEM replacement bumper cover, Zip tie the harness at the gromet area upper right but do not run the new harness along the curve otherwise the big 7pin plug will not make it far enough to the bumper cover.
Make sure you apply Black RTV at the gromet cut and around the new harness! Do both under the body and inside the trunk.

Zip tie at the 1pm and 11 am point. 7pin plug bagged and taped shut upper left until I get the Hyundai trailer hitch.

Done. Now reinstall your panels and jack compartment.
