Okay, got it. I was confusing the AC700 Harness with AU700 (PIO) Hitch. Appreciate the DIO and PIO decoding. Attached is the XRT Tow Hitch Installation Instructions I was provided by dealer parts manager.
Now it all makes sense. You had me going there for a minute. 😁

I cannot believe they have 3 hitch pn's due to the filler panel being slightly different. Crazy for inventory.

Thanks for uploading the instruction file.👍

Yes, it is nuts there are 3 PNs just because of the cover BUT, on the other hand, Hyundai would need to make it clear the dealer needed to order 2 separate parts, Hitch Kit and Cover separately. Makes me think of the electric oil pump recall, where they supply a replacement pump with any hardware needed (gasket, bolts) so you don't reuse the old ones and don't have to order multiple parts. Standard process is probably just to ensure everything is provided in one kit PN.

I am no expert at tow hitches, but I was of the understanding that the Palisade harness kit, which is $200 ($333 installed) from the dealer came with 3 harnesses and a control module, which doesn’t require a separate aftermarket brake controller. Is this correct?

No, you will need a brake controller. One of the cables in the kit is a 4 wire pigtail that connects to a connector behind the fuse panel by your left knee. (which is also a PITA to find). Those wires will connect to the brake controller of your choosing. The reason I went with the Redarc Liberty controller is that the only thing that's visible is the control knob instead of a whole unit.

I have a 2023 SEL w/ Premium Package and bench seat. My dealer's parts manager emailed their Hyundai point of contact to verify the Tow Hitch PN for my VIN was S8F671 AU200. Guessing this is same PN for all models except Limited and Calligraphy, which appears to be AU300 due to cover difference in style and finish. Dealers cannot order Tow Hitch until available, which is sometime mid-October on. Likely cannot provide installation cost until hitch is "released" to dealer. Guessing retail cost for parts and installation will be around $1100-$1200 without sales/service tax. Parts department will order Hitch Kit and Harness Kit for me at a discount that is similar to online cost, which should save around $200 on parts. I am assuming that works for service department to install, as I know they won't install if I buy it elsewhere. Parts manager found what might be draft installation instructions, as it lists different PNs for Tow Hitch. Guessing the PNs changed after instructions drafted and final release instructions will identify the two PNs in this thread. I'll try to remember to provide an update once I am able to order the hitch, so everyone will know it is available.
Go to u-haul and save a ton of money. They have the harness assemblies and they have the tow hitches and they can install it for about half of what a dealer will.

I don't disagree entirely. I have the Drawtite hitch on my Palisade courtesy of u-haul which I currently only use for our bike rack and hitch rack.

Their harnesses, I passed on for now, it's the old-school wire tapping method which I'd personally prefer to avoid. We're considering renting a camp trailer next summer/fall. If we do, I'll have the OEM harness installed.

I understand. You are right. They tap into the wires as opposed to using a prebuilt harness. Mine was done 3 months ago and it has been working wonderfully. I actually bought my hitch on etrailer and had u-haul install it along with wiring it up. They sell their own brand of hitches that look exactly like the Curt brand.

The u-haul trailers for the Palisade are either Draw-tite or Curt. I tried to get the Curt since it was $12 cheaper (LOL). But it was out of stock and I couldn't wait any longer since we were going on our summer vacation road trip. One actual advantage of the Curt hitch is it doesn't require any trimming of the bumper trim on the 23 Palisades. The Draw-tite I got, the tech had to trim about 1/4" off the black plastic trim on the bottom of our Calligraphy. It's totally unnoticeable and I'm never going to remove the hitch regardless now at this point.

Also just my opinion, but the OEM hitches coming out replaces the center bottom panel of the bumper to fit the hitch through the bumper. Obviously no one has gotten one yet, but the sketch of the Calligraphy version in the installation manuals (which are already online) is pretty ugly looking. I think I prefer the look of just having the square hitch sticking out below the bumper.

Thanks all, more educated now. I looked back at installation instructions and, sure enough, it identifies the need for a brake controller. Unfortunate that Hyundai didn't provide a switch location with a blank cover on the left panel next to the Tow button where you could install the brake controller switch. That way you wouldn't have to drill trough the panel to install it, although locating it on the fuse panel cover seems reasonable and can be more easily replaced (at a lower cost) if you screw it up and need another panel.

A blank spot would have been nice. But others and myself installed on the fuse panel. Not a bad spot. And a lot cheaper to replace. The little redarc button is pretty small and not some big eyesore.

Just reading all this Looking at a used 2023 pallisade calligraphy model tomorrow I tow a small trailer. Live in Canada. Before considering purchase I have questions will this model have the correct wiring for towing to be installed by my rv place? I will get my tv place to install the hitch currently I plug a brake system into the 12 v lighter to use the trailer brakes, will this still work? do not want to buy a vehicle to tow and camp a lot that won’t work? thanks
