Let me start by apologizing for any stupid questions I ask but I'm an old guy with a bad back and probably buying my last vehicle.
I have searched the threads here and discussions about road and cabin noise and it would appear (maybe because I was looking for it). I have owned Toyota Highlanders for many years and have not been exceedingly unhappy with them so far but one of the things I value in a vehicle is quietness and a smooth ride. I liked the 4Runner but knew the suspension would be stiffer. I have champagne taste and a beer pocket. I would imagine if I could afford an Escalade I would likely get the quietness and smooth ride I seek. Highlanders had a soft ride but were not particularly cabin quiet. So I have a few questions. Has anyone made a ride softness comparison between the Palisade and more luxurious vehicles or even Highlanders? Is there any difference in the ride or quietness between the various levels of Palisade?
I have been reading about adding fin like additions to the sideview mirrors to quiet wind noise but there is also the issue of road noise which may be a function of the tires. Nowadays I hear that there are audio systems with noise cancelling ability to counteract road and cabin noise.
So can I hear from people who can suggest to me whether the ride is as soft as the Toyota Highlander and how effective is the Palisade's soundproofing. I have heard that in the higher models the windows are made more soundproof and I am not particularly happy with Toyotas when it comes to a quiet cabin.
I value and respect the opinions in this group after lurking and reading as much as I could.
Thanks in advance to all contributors
