Cold weather startup squeal in morning

Hi everyone

Hoping to see if anyone has had this. Over the last week or so it has been incredibly cold some nights (-10 to -15f) and I found that in the mornings of these cold nights the engine starts fine but has a loud squeal or similar noise for the first 10-15 seconds. It then goes away for the rest of the day. Just wondering if anyone has had this. Anything to be concerned about?

Some Serpentine belts when they cold, get hard and slip some during cold starts for a few seconds. You can go to parts store and buy a can of Belt conditioner spray and follow directions on how to apply to your accesorry drive belt. I works. Good luck

I've noticed a slight squeal on my 2021 Limited the past few mornings (15-20 degrees F). It goes away after a few seconds. Never heard it last year with similar temps

The squeal is probably the belts. The belts are rubber and in those cold temps rubber gets hard so they are probably slipping.

Yes, makes sense, but we have a brand new loaner and It does not make the same noise... leads me to believe the belt has degraded over the last 45k miles and should be replaced. In other words I understand the impacts of cold weather on rubber but that should not be expected behavior.

Our car squealed for about 15 seconds and we took a video haha. It was around 9 or 10 degrees outside for reference
