BLIND-SPOT COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM

I've had my Palisade for about three weeks now, and three different times while driving down the road, I've received a message that says: "CHECK BLIND-SPOT COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM." Neither has it been while there were other cars around or when I was in traffic. All three times, I was on a 2-lane road with no other vehicles around. The warning light (an orange triangle with an exclamation inside) will stay on until I turn the car off and won't come back on when I start it up again.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Same thing happened on my Limited AWD while on the freeway AND using Android Auto to listen to Spotify. It occurred twice on the same road trip, both within a few hours of each other. The second occurrence I had just attempted to command the Google Assistant through Android Auto; it hung for a while, then the cluster showed the warning to check the Blind Spot system. To me it seems to be a software bug rather than a hardware issue with the Blind Spot system.

It's never happened since that road trip, despite using AA regularly.

Keep us posted if the dealer has any insight.

They said the other dealership in town had a few of these as well. Reset the system and said to let them know if it comes back on. Said it takes about 60 miles before it calibrates itself again. Said that’s what the other dealership did and nobody has been back. Driven about 60 miles since and so far so good. Let’s hope it stays,

I've also had this issue on my Limited, which I've had for a month. We took it to the dealer and they said they've actually been seeing this problem quite a bit. The Blind Spot Collision warning will come on about 10-15 minutes after the car has been turned on, and then it goes away again if I turn the engine off and on. The dealer thinks that eventually they'll have a recall for this. We're getting ours fixed next week...the dealer needed to order a part and it took a few days. I was relieved that they've heard of the problem and at least claim to know how to fix it...it was so upsetting to get a warning light on a brand new car!

Experienced this as well while on a mini road trip couple weeks ago. The notification would come on after observing the blind spot indicators on either side activating when there were clearly no objects to trigger it. Turning the car off then on would just temp reset this but always come back on after 10-15min of diving.
It’s currently at the dealer for the window whistling TSB but dealer says it was recalibrated and tested for a few miles without activating again. Wasn’t told it would take 60 miles to fully recalibrate as mentioned above but will monitor and report if it returns. But for now looks like a minor and quick fix.

UPDATE:::: Just took my car to the dealership and said they just had to re calibrate the system. Just picked it back up yesterday so haven't really driven it that far, but driving to the mountains for the weekend so we'll see if it's really/ truly fixed.

Did recalibrating the system fix the issue? We took our Palisade to the dealer almost two weeks ago and they said they were familiar with the issue and could fix it. But we're currently still waiting to have it fixed, because apparently they needed a certain part and it is on backorder. Do you know what the recalibration required, and if it needed any new parts? Our dealer says it's going to take a full day to fix after they get the part and I'm nervous for them to be fiddling around so much with any of the systems (fix one thing, break another, you get the idea). Your dealer's solution sounds simpler!

I will write an update once I know the reason. But what the service rep told me was that the sensor could have been damaged by an outside sources, which is not covered under the warranty. The example he gave was something like a ball hitting the bumper. According to him I am not going to see a damage on the bumper but the sensor could be damaged. With this logic they can say what ever they like and void the warranty.

I had mine in the shop, they recalibrated it and now it works fine with no issues.

I've had the same problem with our 2020 Palisade Limited. The system malfunctions after driving a few miles regardless of temperature, city/highway/country road, or speed. It resets after restarting the car, but malfunctions again within a few miles. When the system malfunctions, I get a "controller error" message if I try to deactivate active assist. I called Hyundai, they are aware of the problem, but say there's no current fixes. I've read on this and other forum that recalibrating only works for 800-1000 miles. Is anyone aware of actual fix to the problem? Has anyone heard anything different?

Purchased ours in late October, failed by mid November. Dealer initially said it may have been hit by another car. What a dumb thing to say with no obvious signs of damage! The scary part is that this dealer didn't seem to know how to address it so they did a simple reset to clear the error on the first visit. It failed again during the 10 mile drive home. Had to make another service appointment and took it back two weeks later. On the second visit they talked about having to drop the rear bumper to replace sensors. Fortunately it didn't come to that and they ended up doing a complete "software update" to clear the error. One thousand miles later and the error came back for the third time. I'm scheduled to drop it off tomorrow, 12/26.

It's really frustrating having to keep going back for this issue, but more importantly when ours fails it seem to affect other safety functions.
Hyundai better get their act together and find a fix. We love our Palisade Limited and hope it doesn't come to us having to research California Lemon Laws! :poop:
Keep us posted on what your dealer is saying regarding these failures, and when we can expect the new software updates.

It would be great if folks writing about some of these problems would also include the build date listed on the door jam. That way over time, we can tell if there is a breakpoint when the factory corrected the problems before shipping the vehicles. I have so far not experienced any of the issues mentioned in many of the posts. My build date is Oct 26th 2019. Took delivery on December 11th. So far so good. No window noise, no false blind side indications that I recall.

UPDATE: Took in our Palisade Limited today for the third time to address the Blind-Spot Collision Warning System error.
When I explained to the service advisor of these problem he seemed oblivious to this stating that ours was the only Palisade he knew about with this problem. I mentioned that this was a big discussion on the Palisade forums and that this would most likely become a recall issue. I mentioned that someone on the Palisade forums said Hyundai was getting ready to release a software fix. It was then that he decided to look into it searching for any new campaigns and low and behold, there it was! Per this advisor, Generic Recall T4K 990C094R1 - Palisade BCW RADAR UPDATE was just released on Monday 12/23/19. The mechanic confirmed that this campaign is specifically to address this warning system issue. It took them about 30 minutes to perform the update. So far so good, we shall see.
At least our Hyundai dealer is acknowledging the problem and the fact that they now have the "fix". Good luck with yours.

Thanks for this info! Are you in Southern California? If so, can you share what dealer you went to?

I recently drove from AZ to WA in a month old Palisade and within 5 to 30 miniutes after restarting, the system would go down with the warning. Set up an appointment in WA and within two hours got a call from the AZ dealership where we bought it asking when I could bring it in as Hyundai put out a recall (not sure if they used the correct term) on the issue. They said there was a software fix for it and would take about an hour and 15 minutes. I called the local service scheduler but she couldn't find the recall. I'm taking it in tomorrow and hoping the service advisor is familiar with the fix. I think I'll take in the above info just to be sure

Just happened to my wife and I yesterday. Same as you all. Drove for about 6 miles before it popped up on the dash. Turned the car off and on, then the service warning light disappeared. But came back in after a few minutes of driving. Car has just crossed over 665 miles. We bought the car new on December 13. 2019 in Carson / Long Beach CA area. The build date is October 15, 3019. We have the Limited FWD. Going to talk to the service department tomorrow. I’ll update you all.
