There already was not a very large gap between the Calligraphy and a GV80 - certainly not one large enough to warrant a 30k difference in price. The more toys and features they keep adding to the Calli - the fewer GV80s they are going to sell. Hyundai is doing to itself what they were doing to others some years ago with the introduction of Genny. Not the smartest marketing move - undercutting yourself.

I note that, in one of the videos of the new Palisade in the wild, Hyundai stole styling cues from current gen Telluride with oversized corner white DRLs which turns into amber blinkers, very classy.
As long as they didn't steal the large, amber squares around the headlights, ugliest feature Telluride ever did.

Latest specs coming out of Korean version indicate that, sadly, there would not be a 3.5L V6 Turbo found in the Genesis, instead the Palisade will borrow the 2.5L Turbo 4 cylinder from Santa Fe for an ICE model plus a hybridized variant of the gas engine (detuned 2.5T to about 258hp, I think) paired with an electric motor for a combined 329hp, this should compare favorably in horsepower with the refreshed Chev Traverse, Explorer, Grand Highlander Max and the CX-90 hybrid. I understand choosing the smaller displacement engine and beefing up the electric battery if they want to maximize fuel mileage. Thankfully, the space behind the third row seats is now 21.7 cu.ft, par for the course, the overall space behind the first row seats is not yet known ( extra wheel base length of 2.7 inches) , it needs to be at least 96 cu.ft to compete with Traverse, Atlas, Grand Highlander, Acadia and Enclave.

There was a 0 chance of that 3.5tt making in to Hyundai. Genesis said it was exclusive engine to them, and it's too much power on fwd layout application anyway. The NA 3.5 would have been better.

No. They NOT going to run 1.6L hybrid powertrain that is in Santa Fe. Larry it was already mentioned many times in this thread that it's going to be a new setup: 2.5T hybrid with 1.65kWh battery. This is a first for Hyundai/Kia. First hybrid that uses 2.5T instead of 1.6T. Also battery is bigger and I'm sure the control module is new to accommodate 2.5T. It has to be much better setup hybrid than in Santa Fe just because engine is more powerful than 1.6T. They will also for the first time have 329hp hybrid! Those numbers are much better than current 3.8L. Torque is more too.
From Korea blogs it's predicted for hybrid to have EPA 32-33MPG. It will retain physical connection to rear wheels HTRAC - which is much better system for winter than what Toyota uses. Combined with 6-AT (thanks god no more DCT) this hybrid is going to kick some arse and feel much better to drive than many Toyota or Mazda hybrids.
From Korea pre-orders, they already got 33k preorders and 70% of them are for hybrid!

2.5T hybrid, not 2.4, and the V6 will be the same V6 3.5L (non-turbo) that has been available in other markets since 2019, lol. It's basically the same V6 we got in the US/Canada, but instead of 3.8L, it's 3.5L, and it has dual injection multiport and GDI —which is better than just GDI as it supposedly cleans valves by fuel fumes and avoids carbon build=up in the long run. Toyota has had a similar dual injection system since 2019. It is also a tiny bit more fuel efficient, but not by much. I don't see it as a good enough upgrade from the existing 3.8L.

Also, unfortunately, it will be more expensive by about $3-6k depending on the trim. However, it IS slightly bigger than the current gen Palisade, and it does have more power 329hp for the hybrid version and more torque too - so a price increase might be justified. Depends on a trim level, but base trim might also get more equipment standard, so that's another price increase justification.
My several cons that I noticed from released pictures so far:
1. Drivers door panel/trim looks empty - not sure if that will be fixed in the production model or if it's trim dependent. Current gen. Palisade has nice stitched details in Caligraphy trim.
2. That dual 12.3 inch curved screen looks ok, but nothing to write home about. For starters Hyundai/Kia uses same screen in almost every model. Also, information cluster screen lacks customization options. For example, you can't change it to output Google Maps navigation in the drivers cluster screen - like you can do even in Nissan Rogue which costs a lot less. I think it's time for Hyundai/Kia to upgrade that "dated" dual screen setup.
3. Center console/armrest setup is not as good as in Santa fe: where you have dual wireless chargers, in Palisade only one. I think they could have done a better job designing that part.
4. Passenger side has huge "tray" on front dash/panel - but turns out it's curved, so you can't really use it as a tray, things will just slide off it. This is so much space wasted. How easy it would have been to do a real tray/storage, but they missed that opportunity. Or for a change, they could have put a passenger screen there instead of that useless wasted space. How can a company that big with so much money put into design - still come short on such details? This is beyond my understanding. I noticed it immediately, took me like 30 sec to realize that. I watched a couple Korean reviews and they voiced the same concern of wasted space/opportunity. Remember that this new gen. Palisade will be all over the world next 5-6 years until 2031 when next gen will come out. So it's even more mind boggling as to why they decided to NOT use that space?! How dumb.

I love the look and specs of the hybrid version of this vehicle. But the vehicle has one potentially fatal flaw - no AWD option. I've been looking at this as an alternative to the Toyota Grand Highlander, which does offer AWD as an option on its limited hybrid (fuel efficient model) and its hybrid max (performance hybrid model). Really disappointing as I want to use this for road trips and camping vacations but not sure how it will do if taken on more "adventuresome" roads or if exposed to wintery weather. Thoughts?

I would suggest you wait until the specs for the US version are released before assuming there won't be AWD.
Let's hope your optimism is prescient. I fear it won't be. The US version of the Carnival hybrid mid-cycle redesign was released without AWD. This was why I removed it from my consideration set.

Kia Carnival is a minivan lol. If you read Kia statement they clearly said that they prioritize lower cost and minivan target market is not affected by absence of AWD. Research that was done by Chrysler (hello - first minivan ever made) showed that less than 2% real minivan buyers would want AWD. Also, Kia Carnival was never made with AWD ever. While Palisade was made with AWD starting from the very first day of production back in 2018 lol. You are comparing a minivan that never had AWD designed for it with an SUV that always had AWD. So stupid comparison and lack of knowledge or/or logic.
Palisade is SUV and as I said there was and is NOT A SINGLE variant of it, or NOT A SINGLE market in the world where it was offered without AWD option. Close to half of sales are AWD.
Also, it's not my optimism. It's knowledge and logic (or lack of knowledge and logic in your case). As I understood you are not a car guy eh? Just a lame person. Otherwise you wouldn't made such silly comments about AWD. Might as well go to Jeep forum and ask that Wrangler has a fatal flaw - no AWD. Just because Fiat Punto (same Stellantis group) came with no AWD option. I mean come on man.

Dude - please chill. Geez, are you a Hyundai dealer or do you normally have a thorn up your butt?

Dear omniscient one - everyone knows the Carnival is a mini-van. But speculation before its launch was that it would have AWD. Sorry you missed the headlines.

And the words you attribute to my statement - I never made any direct comparison between the Carnival and the Palisade. Yet you say I'm "comparing a minivan that never had AWD designed for it with an SUV that always had AWD." Speaking about stupid! A purchase consideration is not a comparison.

Now for your homework: Please find one article about the 2026 Palisade Hybrid that says anything about it coming with AWD (optional or otherwise). You can link it to your response. I've done my homework. Have you?

How dumb you have to be to not understand what i wrote already?? One more time for complete idiots: Palisade brochure and official release has already been made!!! in Korea yesterday. You can order it already (gas version deliveries in January - as we speak, Hybrid version in March). This is all things that are official. No ifs - it's a fact.

When I see idiotic comments on forums - I call it. You came here on forum and literally the very first comment of yours was that Palisade has a "fatal flaw" no AWD. And then you proceeded to give example of Kia Carnival a minivan that never had AWD - lol that's complete absence of ANY logical reasoning ability. Which is quite common. Imagine how dumb average Joe is and then realize statistically if Joe is average - then 50% of people are dumber than that. That been said, the real question is not your stupid 8 year old childish comments about AWD (imagine going to Jeep forum and posting that stupidest comment about AWD) or thorn in my butt, but what MPG new hybrid Palisade will have, what HDA level (autopilot) it will have, when will Hyundai USA/Canada start taking orders, what will be the availability, what changes infotainment system will have, what new options will be offered and so on. I know answers to 90% of those questions (from my Korean friends), but I won't post them here because of people like you - simply because no one will appreciate, no one has ANY reasoning ability left (well, maybe except Eric2203 - he seems logical), peopel are just dumb and dumber, they don't care much about anything and will post same idiotic comments over and over again. This is just how it is. Don't believe me? Here's 100% proof - I guarantee you will answer and comment on me about thorn in my butt, about another stupid nonsense, anything except a useful logical information. There will be literally zero useful input from you and idiots ike you. I'm used to this. Go on. Post your comment. And if i don't answer - that means I lost any interest arguing with idiots.

There was no childishness in my statement that the Palisade does not have AWD. It doesn't - yet - at least in Korea. We have to wait on the USA version to come out, and you may be correct that AWD will be on the USA version. But there was speculation that the Carnival would be introduced with AWD. That did not happen. Any moron knows the Carnival is a mini-van (dressed up to look like an SUV). That said, I hope you're right, as I really want to buy this SUV and if it has AWD, it's almost a certainty.

Furthermore, you can scream at Car and Driver for this review of the annoucement of the Palisade:

"Transmission woes have plagued the first-year run of Hyundai's revamped Santa Fe, with customers citing issues with that model's eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Kia Sorento also suffered some reliability issues with this gearbox, including the one we had in our office for a 40,000-mile long-term test. If the companies decide to swap out the current powertrain for one borrowed from these models, it could cause prospective buyers to reconsider."

Well, well, another legitimate concern.

Having owned the 2023 Palisade for about 20 months now, three features must, in my view, be indispensably carried over in the 2026MY: rear camera mirrors which I have used several times now when the cargo area was loaded to the gills; Auto brake hold and Lane Following Assist ( LFA), both of which I use daily on my daily work commute. A few new features to make me a happy camper: power exterior folding mirrors, walk-away door locks, heated windshield, and an option for second row bench seating on the top calligraphy trim. That's it.

Well - they will never really take features away from a vehicle... so - not sure what the worry is there.
The windshield is heated when you set the control to divert some or all air to the windshield, like in every car. Splitting it between windshield and floor works very well.
"Bench seating" and "top trim" are conflicting statements for any manufacturer. Nobody manufacturers vehicles like that since the days of the full size conversion van. :)

As for your mirror cams - I am a bit confused. Yes, those are helpful and useful as the supplemental aids that they are - but in all 50 states you are required to have a direct line of sight to both side mirrors in your vehicle, without any obstructions. If you are piling stuff that high and forward in your right-front passenger seat where you cannot see the right mirror - you need to considering changing your loading practices. Visibility to the rear using a center-mounted mirror is actually not required by law, and would not provide you with any visibility that the side-mirror mounted cameras (or mirrors) would provide you anyhow.
