Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for sharing. I went with the Kia 7 pin, E-trailer hitch, and have a Redarc on the way. Does anyone know the part number for the interior fuse cover? I'd like a spare incase I ever want to remove or change the brake controller.

Side note, the dealer didn't install the hitch to my satisfaction (not torqued to spec and missing 2 washers) and when tidying everything up the new harness I noticed a mounting hole on the inside corner of the bumper toward the top where you can clip the connector up and out of the way. I didn't take pictures because I was a bit frustrated having to redo the dealerships work, it was a comp since the factory failed to put a drain plug in the rear differential and it failed at 300 miles, but it makes for a really tidy install.

I just replaced my 4 pin wiring harness on my Palisades Limited with factory option Tow Hitch. I bought the Kia Telluride 7 pin harness as others have done, 2020-2021 Kia Telluride Tow Hitch Harness 7 Pin S9F67-AC500 | University Kia Of Durham. The parts box contained the 7 pin wire harness, the brake controller wire harness, and installation instructions. It was very easy using information and videos others have posted. It didn't include a bracket for the 7 pin connector so I made something simple from aluminum brackets I had laying around in my garage from other projects. I reused the 4 pin connector mount to attach my bracket to and zip tied the 7 pin plug to it. It is very sturdy and solid. Thanks to everyone who blazed the trail on this installation with lots of helpful posts.

Hi, I am very new to his tow hitch harness. Could you tell me what else did you buy beside the Kia 7pin harness?

I also see other post said it need a break controller, is it true?

I too purchased the KiaHarness 7 way harness- Plugs right in at the rear wiring harness behind the driver side rear wheel under the plastic box cover. The wiring for a brake controller up front is also included. That connector is taped up behind the fuse panel in the cabin near the driver's seat. IF the brake controller has a connector on it, you will have to cut it off and direct wire it to the new clip connector included the the 7 way harness kit. It took my husband and I less than an hour to hook everything up. Easy Peasy and everything works flawlessly. Kia Part #S9F67-AC500 7 pin kit for a 2021 telluride.
Did you just install the Kia 7 pin kit? What else do I need for install it?

The palisade is rated for something like 1650lb (check your owners manual to be sure) without a brake controller. If you think you'll tow over this amount or plan on having a trailer with electric brakes then you'll need a brake controller. It's really easy to install on the 2022 since the vehicle side connector is already taped to the OBD port and the 7 pin harness comes with the plug for the brake controller.

I just picked up my 2021 last week. I presume all the tow bars for the 2020 work (manufacturers say they will).

The 2021s supposedly are prewired for a 7-pin so I figured I might as well install a 7-pin harness. Mostly I’ll be towing a small 4-pin utility trailer but I have aspirations to tow something bigger some day.

Does anyone know a source for a 7-pin harness that plugs in to the factory pre-wire plug?
I ordered all my hitch stuff from curt hitches. Online. The factory plug was on the driver side in the rear of the wheel well. I have a 7pin and 4 pin combo.

Curt hitches has exactly what you need its all plug n play. Worked great on my 2020 for boat trailer

Found this on the Curt website, but can't find anywhere that sells it. Has anyone else found it? Custom 7-Way RV Blade, Select Palisade, Santa Cruz, Telluride, Need Tow Package
Available at etrailer.com, although their price is quite a bit higher ($123) than that quoted on the Curt website ($87). Did you try the Dealer Locator on Curt's site and try ordering through your nearest Curt dealer?
https://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/CURT/C68JR.html

Interesting (and nice) to see that Curt has developed a 7-pin harness. I purchased my 2021 Limited in late 2020 and all that was available at the time was the 4-pin harness.

It would be nice if Curt would also bundle a pigtail with the appropriate connector for installing a brake controller under the dash with this 56466 kit (similar to the Kia Telluride kit - Kia Part number S9F67-AC500).

thanks for the help. I had actually contacted etrailer about the part and they sent me the link, but told me it won’t be available until 3/10. At that price I might as well get the Kia part with the brake controller pigtail.

my nearest dealer is an 1 1/2 hrs away, so I’m trying to get something online.

The Kia harness come with Trailer Brake Harness, do you use it or it can throw away?

Thank you so much. I got my car and Kia 7 pin tow hitch harness. So I am really to install. For the 7 pin brake controller, do you have any good suggestion what to use as I don’t want to drill any hold on the new car. Otherwise, I think wireless brake controller will do the work, what do you think ?

The palisade is capable of towing 5,000 lbs. if the trailer has brakes. Nowhere does it say the brakes have to be electric or have a controller in the cabin of the vehicle. Many boat trailers have just surge brakes and only need a 4 flat connector. Not all vehicles that have a 7 pin connector installed on the back of the vehicle have a connector in the cabin either.
And nowhere is there a statement saying that the 7 pin wiring isn't available. Show me a vehicle that is factory equipped with 7 pin, that doesn't have a controller in cab.

I would have mentioned my 2009 GMC Sierra, but I'm guessing he's thinking more about a current model.
My 2018 F-150 didn't have a controller either even though it had the Backup Pro Assist thing. It was wired for it, but, I had to purchase one, install it and program it with ForScan. I'm guessing if you want a controller now a days, you need to get a 3/4 ton or above. The Palisade is only rated at 5000# and the max cargo weight will probably be the limiting factor depending on your trailers tongue weight.
