Hi can you show how you removed the cover from the rear driver side in order to access the pre wiring? I have a 2021 as well and I see that there are three plastic “bolts” that are easy enough to pop off with a flat head screw driver but then I also noticed two plastic nuts on the cover as well.....do these need to be removed too? I can easily take pictures tomorrow and send if I am doing a poor job of explaining myself!
Just loosen those two plastic nuts after removing the 3 plastic clips and the cover piece comes off.

You can twist them (like unscrew them) while pulling down on the plastic piece. If you try to just unscrew them without pulling down on the cover, they will just spin. They are plastic though, and don't really bite very well, so you can literally just pull down on the plastic piece and they come off. Just make sure you have the 3 push clip pins out first (the ones you remove with a flat head screwdriver.) This is a video for reference (not my video), point of interest is at 30 seconds -

Ordered USCAR 7 wire female connector, with 24 inch pigtail, from Amazon.ca for $20. Reese (I have one) and Curt, I believe, sell dual output 4&7 pin harness which uses a USCAR 7 pin connector to connect to vehicle factory wiring. Simple to snip off Hyundai/Kia factory connector and use female USCAR one as I will be doing. Total harness to finish hitch install...$53 Canadian plus gov't welfare contribution!

Can you provide a link to the parts you are describing? I went the Kia harness route for my palisade. I’m not sure about other Canadians following this thread but it was an exercise in patience to get that part! Kia Canada doesn’t carry the part and it took me a few hours to find a dealership in the states that was willing to ship one here (found one in Vermont). Got the harness yesterday, looking forward to installing it!

Ordered total 4 items:
1. Curt Hitch 13427 from Partsengine.ca.

2. Reese Part 74682 (7 and 4 blade) harness from Lowes Canada.

3. Curt 58000 Easy Mount Bracket for 2 inch receiver tube from Amazon.ca (to mount item 2).

4. Curt 56229 USCAR Replacement Vehicle End Wiring with 24 inch pigtail from Amazon.ca. This replaces the factory wiring connector and plugs into Item 2.

Not yet gone under vehicle but one either swaps out the connectors on factory wiring, or cuts off factory connector and uses solder and shrink tubing to connect Item 4 to factory wiring. After that, it is all plug and play.

The USCAR connector is found on Ford, GMC, Nissan, and numerous others which have factory installed trailer wiring.

I paid $33 and change for the Reese part, and $19.95 for the Curt USCAR vehicle end wiring. Significantly below what Kia is charging for their plug in harness, and gives me dual plugs in one harness.

Hope this helps.

I honestly wouldn't touch the factory wiring, to avoid any potential warranty claim, but to each his own. The Kia harness, which is plug and play, should be perfectly fine, no? There are adapters you can buy to go from 7 to 5, and 7 to 4 (sometimes both on the same one), so I see no need to butcher the factory connector. But maybe I'm missing something :).

I can't imagine a warranty issue. People have been wiring up trailer plugs for years in cars with and without factory wiring. Companies make all sorts of connectors. Worst case scenario would be connecting snaller gauge wires than recommended standard for turn, brake, power, etc wires. If a potential warranty issue then I wouldn't hook up a trailer which is not wired by Hyundai! Your adding wiring to the factory wiring as soon as you plug any trailer to a vehicle except using a plug and not an inline connector or solder.

Here are 2 parts to complete wiring. Car end comes with 7 butt connectors (if not soldering), and 7 shrink tubes. The USCAR connectors are used on factory wiring for Buick, Chev, GMC, Hummer, Lincoln to name some. My cost before tax...a bit under Cdn $54.00.

I'm glad you found a solution, but for me, the ability to return my vehicle to stock by unplugging one (or two if hardwiring the brake controller) plug is worth the extra $100, plus being able to plug it in is just a huge bonus. I can solder like a wizard, I assemble battery packs for rc cars that can push over 150a continuously, but plugging stuff in is so much easier, and usually leads to a much cleaner install. Also, all the makes of cars you mentioned I stay far away from due to reliability issues (personal preference.)

Success! I was able to install the Kia 7-pin wiring harness on my 2021 Palisade yesterday and it fit like a glove. Was exactly what I would have expected (but from Hyundai). The connector snapped in easily to the factory connector and I was easily able to route the cables and secure them using tie wraps. I tested all the pin outs on the 7-pin connector and everything worked fine, except the brake pin-out (since I haven't installed a brake controller yet). I'm pretty confident that will work once I install a wired one using the other cable that came with the kit, or the Curt Echo. While you can probably rewire other kits for less than the $140 I paid on line for the Kia kit, this was definitely very simple to install for the backend.

I just replaced my 4 pin wiring harness on my Palisades Limited with factory option Tow Hitch. I bought the Kia Telluride 7 pin harness as others have done, 2020-2021 Kia Telluride Tow Hitch Harness 7 Pin S9F67-AC500 | University Kia Of Durham. The parts box contained the 7 pin wire harness, the brake controller wire harness, and installation instructions. It was very easy using information and videos others have posted. It didn't include a bracket for the 7 pin connector so I made something simple from aluminum brackets I had laying around in my garage from other projects. I reused the 4 pin connector mount to attach my bracket to and zip tied the 7 pin plug to it. It is very sturdy and solid. Thanks to everyone who blazed the trail on this installation with lots of helpful posts.

Looks nice! If you ever want to get rid of that zip tie, home depot sells the mount for $2 - CURT Connector Mounting Bracket for 7-Way RV Blade (Black)-58290 - The Home Depot
SKU# 205632734 the aluminum mount looks more sturdy than what I did. I may change mine up a bit when the weather cools down. I hate being drenched in sweat within 10 minutes of being outside lol, Florida is awesome for 6 months, tolerable for another 2, but June, July, August, and September it's almost unbearable.

I'm currently in this same boat....kind of. I simply need a 5 pin flat for a boat that I purchased. I found an easy adapter on Amazon but would really like a plug that goes straight from the stock harness. I'm finding they've properly boned all you 7pin guys but an holding out hope there's a chance for me only needing a 5 pin... 🤞 Any suggestions?

Hello, just installed Stealth hitch on my 2020 Palisade. Where does the black wire go on the tow module that is supposed to be run from battery to module? There is no wire that I can attach to on the module. The module already has a 20 amp fuse attached that takes power from the Palisade tow connector (black wire) so I'm assuming I don't need to run the wire from battery?

Just got off the phone with Stealth Hitches. They said if your Stealth hitch kit came with built in fuse holder, you don't need to run wire from battery to trailer module. The connector at the rear of Palisade powers everything. The trailer connector gets it's power from 40 amp trailer fuse in the engine compartment.

Even though the Stealth hitches manual says to run wire, the rep told me, they just haven't updated the manual.

Does anyone know if this KIA part will work on a 2020 Palisade Limited (with tow package)? I'm using the Curt Echo, so don't need the brake output wiring. Would be nice to have a harness that just plugs right into the car's plug.

I recently purchase the Kia 7-pin harness for my 2021 Limited (tow package is standard) and it was as easy to install as everyone has said. I also installed a curt hitch and redac brake controller. Since you’re using the curt echo you can skip needing to install the controller. What I’ve read, there was no change from the 2020 and 2021 palisade harness.
