My car oil light has been going on for the past few months. I had taken it in for an oil change and at 100 miles my oil light went on. My husband checked the oil and it was 4 quarts low. We called the service department to let them know. We thought at first the tech didn’t put enough oil and that’s why this happened. I then ended up taking my car in again about a month later because oil light went on again. It was again low in oil. They topped it off and said they would need to start an oil consumption test and would have to bring the car in at 1000 miles. We have taken it in about 700 miles because the oil light went on. They topped it off . The said now we would have to bring it in again they had to check check it at 500 miles but oil light went on again and engine light went on. They topped my car off with oil again and said my car engine light went off. They said again to bring it in at 500 miles. One week later the engine light went on again. We again had car towed. Now they say my car is misfiring and the coil needs to be replaced and the spark plug. They said the spark plus are not covered under warranty and will cost almost $800 . I explained to them that it is because my car was burning oil. They said they have not finished the oil consumption test and I can not prove that Its burning oil. So I will have to have to pay for the spark plugs but the coil is covered under warranty. Has anyone had this problem and I don’t know what to do. They have my car over a week each time and will not give me a loaner car. I can not afford to be without a car. Mind you my car only had 45k miles on it.

Yes I have a warranty and it’s a 2020 pallisade with 45 k miles. I went to get the keys to the car and they charged me 150.00 for the diagnostic test because spark plugs are not covered under warranty. It’s wear and tear even though I only have 45k mile and I am not done with the oil consumption test to prove it’s coming from the car burning oil. They will replace the coil and that is covered under warranty. I now have to tow the car and replace the spark plugs myself because they want to charge almost 800 for that. Then make appt for them to replace the coil. Which they will have my car another 2 weeks because they only have 1 tech for the pallisade.

They told me that they recommended the coil be replaced because the spark were bad. I’m thinking when they tested the engine or diagnostic test they did showed it was the coil that was bad. And we should change the sparks plug’s because of this. If this is true I wouldn’t have to pay for the diagnostic test that is almost 200. They would. I think they are trying to make pay for things i shouldn’t have to
