I own a 2020 SEL true 4 wheel drive (the only one) and it of course has (sic) LFA LKA to take your hands off the wheel.

Well, apparently this is how Tesla started out in their Y and 3 models.

You can now purchase steering wheel weights for the TESLA so it thinks your hands are on the wheel..

My 2022 does not need hand contact for at least 15 minutes, and is quite happy staying in its lane while on cruise. I would probable not trust is driving in the mountains but on relatively straight roads it does a pretty good job.

$63??? These dang Tesla drivers are made of money!
Mine lets off about every 3 minutes... wish mine went 15 minutes!

As far as cost, any type of weight would work but it needs to be easy on and off and cosmetically pleasing.

I know on the explorers, you can wedge a half full plastic water bottle in the steering wheel and it reads it as a hand 🤷‍♂️ I'll try that whenever I get my 23'

I believe mine is defective, that 15 min I mentioned is, I am guessing infinite. I timed that interval but had to abort due to a lane change, subsequently I am sure I ran much longer than 15. Pretty sure I could turn on cruise in Edmonton, have a heart attack (and be dead) and have my car drive all the way to Calgary, faithfully following the car ahead.

Mine is like every minute. Huge hassle I'm probably going to order that wrap-around stick tonight since I'm taking the kid back to college soon.

Someguy,

Please tell your family not to complain to Hyundai when you die in a car accident. My 22 Palisade does a little self driving but like yours I get nagged about every minute if my hand is off the wheel. You are only asking for bad things to happen, when you try to outsmart the failsafe system put in place by Hyundai.

I think the hands free thing is dangerous as heck and that in my case the sensitivity to monitor my engagement is "way" off. However if it is on mine.. it is likely on many. And there will be many that take advantage of this and will read a book, take a nap, apply makeup/shave etc. All these "features" take us away from the responsibility of "driving".. and that is not good.

I second this. I love my Comma 3, so much better than the stock system.

Playing Russian Roulette in my opinion.. but it's a free country.

I live in NY State. Drove up to Quebec a few weeks back. I noticed that my Palisade did not require steering wheel input as often(like 1-2 min in the US) when driving on Canadian highways. When driving in the passing lane, as vehicles approached on the right (as I was passing), the car didn't ask me to hold the wheels. It just kept cruising. I didn't time it exactly, but I was on it for longer than 15 minutes. Then, I switched to the cruising lane, and when a car approaches from rear left (to pass), it asked to hold the wheel.

To whom it may concern: Just because my hands were off the wheel doesn't mean I am not paying attention to the road. Hyundai doesn't track our eyes like GM Supercruises do, but I want to believe many sensible Palisade owners are just unwinding a bit on long trips.

This exactly - I'm still paying full attention. Also the Comma 3 mentioned above takes over the system and does eye tracking instead of wheel movements.
You mean like the Tesla driver in L.A. who is constantly getting ticketed because he turns on the autopilot and climbs into the back seat? I wish he would hit me, I would be a rich man.
I'm fine if you want to buy any sort of driving cheaters so you don't want to hold the steering wheel. Please let your families know this, and tell them not to create a Go Fund Me if something bad were to happen to you or others you may cause danger to on the road. Most of us who can afford a Palisade have probably been driving for over 15 + years or more. If you're having problems holding one or two hands on a steering wheel, I don't want to be next to you on the road with my family or anyone I know.

Some of these posts are gold.

I bet if they had online forums back in the 1970s,there'd be a big long thread on here after the Palisade transitioned to electric locks and windows.

"You won't catch me with electric windows and locks! What happens when you end up in the river? Your family is going to be crying because you couldn't roll the windows down and drown! You can thank me later for warning you."

Now can anybody tell me how to setup my 8 tracks with bluetooth?

🤣 100%. Why use cruise control when you can press the gas and brake yourself.

I've been driving over 25 years and have a CDL. I find these driving aids much safer on long road trips than without.

I have no issues with driver assist programming with the key word being ASSIST. There are too many idiots out there who want the programming to do the actual driving for them and when they get in an accident they go but,,, but,,, but.
