To navigate to the next song I have to press down on the steering wheels track selection switch. Logic dictates that you would press it up to go to the next song. I have a 2019 Hyundai Kona and you press it up to change the song. Is the switch on my Palisade backwards or has anyone else noticed this?

This is my third Hyundai and the first to have the switch like this. I've also owned and drive other brand vehicles and none of them had it like this. I get what you're saying about visualizing a list though.

That is how it should be, if you pull the list up on the screen then the next song is down with the previous song up.

Agree. It was one of the first things I noticed. Makes zero sense and is different than any other car I've driven.

I got THIS little bluetooth media control button off amazon and connected it to my phone. Works great as a play/pause, forward, and back button if you're playing music from your phone or in Carplay or Android Auto. I stuck it under my gear shift buttons where my right hand falls. Great solution for $17.

Look at the song list anywhere…the next song is below the current song, why would logic tell you to go up to the next song when the next song is down?

That is exactly what I posted earlier, if you look at the song list on the Nav screen the next song is down. If you look at a song list on your phone the next song is down. If you look at a song list on your computer the next song is down. A list goes from top to bottom with the next being down so please explain why pressing down is backwards

Pretty sure this is one of those things that is crystal clear to the people on each side of the debate and totally incomprehensible to people on the other side. So, I don't think any amount of convincing on either side will make a difference.

That said, I listen to podcasts and audiobooks more than music. In those cases, the forward and back buttons are used to skip ahead and skip back 30 seconds. As it is in the Palisade, I have to push DOWN to go FORWARD in the audio or push UP to go BACKWARD in the audio. That is unintuitive and is not what any other car I've ever driven does. I can't think of any use case when DOWN would equal FORWARD or ADVANCE.

Honestly, this is one thing I miss from my Ford cars, which used a four-way D pad for these controls. Up/Down was for volume and Left/Right was for back/forward.

Because in other scenarios, up is next. Like 4 is one up from 3. Volume up is a little bit louder. etc.

That said, it took me like a day to get used to it, I also don't fully understand why someone would list this as anything more than mildly and momentarily annoying.

I can understand the forward/backward being a little confusing and a left/right would be better but common sense tells most people that a list goes from top to bottom.

To me, coming from a few GMs, the wiper settings are backwards too.
What's not to say that the GMs were the ones that were backwards. Things that make you go hmmm.

Whether we call it backward or not, it trips me up because it is the opposite of every other car I've driven. So it "feels" backward. I'm sure over time I'll also get used to it, until the next car when it's back to "normal", then I can complain again, lol

That said -- the bluetooth media control gadget looks bomb-- there really is a solution for everything!
