Two months after purchasing a 2023 Palisade the radio stopped working and the Home Screen flashes randomly with different screen options. Took it in was told have to bring it back for a new software download, this will take about 3 hours. Hope this is a one off and not what I have to look forward to with Hyundai…

It is because of a weird software bug in the October 2022 version of the navigation system.

An update fixes it. You can do it yourself easily at home. A new version is even out as of last week (May 2023). Download it and install it and you’ll be set to go.
Hope you are right. It’s at the dealer currently. Really hoping I’m not sorry I went away from Toyota😳
Our 2020 was doing something similar recently, and the update fixed it.
Software update was unsuccessful. Need a new “Head Unit” seeing similar posts. I get the sense Hyundai is well aware there is an issue just not making it public.

Check that they actually installed a new, fixed version. If you go to setup > general > SW info/update, check your software version. What does it say? I’m mainly interested in the date code at the end (e.g., 221011, 230203, 230426).

I’m willing to bet they tried installing an older version, and not the fixed February re-release (230203), and definitely not the new May version (230426). Confirm with me what version this is. If it’s old, you’ll just need to install the currently available version. This is not a problem that requires a new head unit.
I have a 2023 Calig, and on our way to Florida for a cruise the infortainment system just went black screen of death. I pulled over and opened the fuse box and pulled the plug after trying all I could think of. This reset it so I could use AppleCar play and nothing else. Just got back today and called the dealer for an appointment. Will keep you posted.
This really sucks on a new car as this is one of many problems with my audio system.
You might try to update your software; otherwise a trip to the dealership. Mine was eventually replaced under warranty.
There is a small hole near the tuning knob that will reset and reboot the system.

If your problem is exclusively no radio (AM/FM/SXM), but everything else works, you were hit by the bug in the October 2022 software.

It was re-released in February to fix the bug, but then superseded by the new May 2023 update. Unfortunately, the May version is temporarily unavailable for all cars with the standard Gen5W system with navigation. So check back later. Once it’s available, download and install that, and you’ll be set.

I will, I did the October update as I got my car in September and it removed the tubes on the radio screen. THANKS

I went back in and I get Sirius XM and can change channels with the tuning knob. There is no display for it and no AM/FM at all.

This!! I have owned one for two days and radio quit having sound on a road trip! I’m disgusted that I went with a Hyundai. I really liked this vehicle but was concerned with Hyundai quality and looks like I wasn’t wrong. So angry

Fortunately it’s an easy software problem to fix that you can do yourself at home. Only real issue at the moment is the update site is temporarily unavailable. But it should be back later this week.

As an aside, I seriously cannot believe how many people still listen to the radio. I don’t think I’ve actually listened to the radio since like maybe the early-to-mid 2000s.
I also rarely listen to the radio. I usually stream Spotify.
Not for radio as I should clarify and no I’m no dinosaur that listens to the regular radio. So sound from Apple Play, Spotify or otherwise. no sound from XM, FM or AM to be specific to your aside.

Most trips are short and not worth the bother to open up an app or the media stick so i just leave the radio on low to have something playing against road sounds.

Maybe once the Bluelink runs out next year I'll have to open WAZE or Android Auto to see traffic and warnings for speed and red light cameras. Til then..
Just got back from Hyndai service and I need a new radio, and guesss what?? You are correct, BACKORDERED, same thing with the wiper recall, spent 2 hours and they did the same troubleshooting I did to find the same result. I told the tech when I went in, this is an inherent problem with Palisades and he knew it. I am not at the point of regret yet, but these things should not happen with getter quality control.

100% guaranteed you do not need a new head unit. You need to install the latest software. Have you actually done that? That’s what you want to do, and your problem will be fixed.
