Does anyone have a checklist that they used when they purchased? The dealer is currently holding the vehicle for me and I will be buying a limited AWD (out of state) on Friday. additions would be much appreciated!

Here is what I have so far:

-Bring copy of insurance
-Inspect the car carefully inside and out for any damage or obvious cosmetic issues and have the dealer note them on the invoice. (Check the bumpers and hood for rock chips), panel gaps
  • Ask the salesperson to walk you through the various features.
  • Ask if all Recalls are performed (If applicable).
  • Make sure both key FOBs work.
  • Bring a camera and take some video and photos before you drive it off the lot.
  • Make sure they give you a full tank of gas.
  • Do a test drive and make sure there are no alignment issues.
  • Identify the Jack up points for all 4 corners of the car.
-Towing attachment points for getting out of the ditch, front and rear.
  • Get information on leather seat maintenance and recommended product to use.
  • Tire pressure warning light is set to correct pressure.
  • Check spare tire pressure too and verify how to access that tire/jack
  • If you want something free, make sure you get it in writing. A dealer will usually give you an IOU in writing for anything that requires ordering.
  • If you need help with Sirius xm or Access app, make sure they walk you through the activation.
  • If the dealer added their dealer stickers, make sure you have them remove it before signing any paperwork.
  • check for seats tear issue or stitching imperfections
  • check for panel gaps
  • check for any paint chips
  • [x] check if phone app system working
  • check for Bluetooth issues & wireless charger
  • check cupholder tabs are working
-sunroofs are working
-quiet mode working
-walk-in talkie working
  • check for remote tailgate open/close via key fob (5sec to lift)
  • Tailgate height adjustment location
  • check for window/ windshield glass cracks or scratches.
  • check parking spot for any under leaks
  • Check rear washer fluid sprayer and if it leaks after use.
-check for rumble noise at 70 while driving back home
  • Check all fluid levels i.e. engine oil, brakes, coolant.
  • Tire pressure at recommended 35psi. (Value on inside door sticker)
  • Heater and a/c when engine temp up to normal; verify hot air / cold air is blowing at idle (seats too)
  • Heat / ac working when doing auto start
  • Interior smell ok
  • Features and functions- how to training
  • [x] Extended warranty, bumper to bumper, 10 yr/100k miles; $1500 (maybe?)
  • Remote start app-, register and test it
  • get key for wheel locks, if applicable
  • Verify display has “vibrant” colors and not a grayish color
  • Cracked windshield replacement; is an individual letter from needed? process/time
  • Moisture remaining in the drivers door and getting the window wet after being rolled down then up.
  • Get free software updates for them life of the car loan (5yrs)
-check the headlights, lights

Just a reminder the financed price will include gap insurance. You might want to compare the price with gap insurance offered through your insurance company. If covered by your insurance then you can remove it from your policy at anytime compared to it being added/included in the term of your loan.

You might want to get an agreement in writing that if there is anything that requires you to take car back to be corrected
For X number of days, 7-30 what ever, like a first received warranty
and they are going to keep the Palisade for more than that day. They will give you a vehicle to drive.

And if you are told to take it back where you purchased it???
I know you can get it serviced at any Hyundai dealership, But not everything is covered under a warranty. Let's say a big dig under the hood.
