It is a chlorine dioxide treatment. It is wonderful, but you may need to do it twice. Pretty cheap to do.

It is not limited to the beige interior. I have the same horrible odor in black leather. Nothing seems to over power the odor, have tried numerous attempts to at least hide or cover the odor.
Same problem here. I haven't addressed this with the dealership yet. I spray Frabreeze into the headrests. That temporarily gets rid of the odor, but it returns.I was chatting with an owner like me who has a "garlic breath" like smell in his Palisade when the car is parked with the windows closed and he suggested we try to get a count of the folks on this forum who are in our same situation and still having the issue. I know there have been other threads on this in the past, but I'd like to take a current pulse of the forum. Please reply to this thread if you have a Limited with the Beige interior and have the foul odor problem. Thanks!
In my case, I purchased my vehicle from a dealer about 300 miles away and had mine delivered. The test drives at local dealership did not have the smell. Was the foul smell not apparent during the test drive? Did it show up days weeks after ownership?
BTW, I only have 2,300 miles on the vehicle. Took delivery in late March, 2020.In my case, I purchased my vehicle from a dealer about 300 miles away and had mine delivered. The test drives at local dealership did not have the smell.
However, I contacted Hyundai and they assigned a Case # and Case Manager. In addition to the smell, I am having them address the wind noise and rear vibration (local Svc Ctr has confirmed both issues). Also, I had a strange experience last week. After backing out of a parking space, I attempted to put vehicle in drive. The dash board lit up and said, "Shifter Malfunction, Service Immediately). The vehicle locked up and would not engage any gear. I called Hyundai Roadside Assistance. I subsequently turned the vehicle off and it would not restart...total blackout on the dash, except Service Immediately notice. After 15 minutes, it restarted and I drove immediately to the Service Center. As you might figure, they could not duplicate the issue and said the onboard computer did not show anything in the history.
The Hyundai Case Manager asked my to arrange to take it back to the Service Center, letting her know when I do. She will deal directly with the Service Technician in addressing each of the issues. I will post the results when I get this done.
I’ve had my palisade for 4 months... it stinks. And is driving me crazy.... is there anything that can be done?I was chatting with an owner like me who has a "garlic breath" like smell in his Palisade when the car is parked with the windows closed and he suggested we try to get a count of the folks on this forum who are in our same situation and still having the issue. If you haven’t read this thread yet, do so: several owners have come up with ways to resolve or mitigate the issue. The thread is several pages long:Noticing our Limited with Beige interior has the "garlic" like smell coming from the headrests (have less than 200 miles on it - April 2020 build date), however, it's currently blended with the "new car" smell so it's not super noticeable unless you actually sniff the headrests... I'm hyper-sensitive to the smell though given the known issue. If the garlic smell doesn't dissipate by the time the new car smell dissipates, I'll bring it up with the dealership.
our dealership did a “vehicle vaccine” treatment on ours and the garlic smell is completely gone
I have owned the 2020 limited beige interIor since Nov 2019, still have the smell. Like everyone else I thought it would lessen over time but it hasn’t.I was chatting with an owner like me who has a "garlic breath" like smell in his Palisade when the car is parked with the windows closed and he suggested we try to get a count of the folks on this forum who are in our same situation and still having the issue.
