I was chatting with an owner like me who has a "garlic breath" like smell in his Palisade when the car is parked with the windows closed and he suggested we try to get a count of the folks on this forum who are in our same situation and still having the issue. I know there have been other threads on this in the past, but I'd like to take a current pulse of the forum. Please reply to this thread if you have a Limited with the Beige interior and have the foul odor problem. Thanks!

Yes, I crack the front windows open every time I pull into the garage. My Limited was built in June, took delivery in August.

Thanks, John. Two additional questions for you: 1) has the smell gotten better over time? and 2) what, if anything has the dealership done for you?
The smell is not as bad now, compared to the first few months. I have not been to the dealership yet, I plan on going sometime in May for an oil change. I will mention the smell and the wind/road noise above 50 mph.

I purchased mine at the end of last July and have never smelled a foul odor, although recently I have detected what I would call a slight chemical smell. It is not offensive just at the level of awareness. The Palisade stays parked most of the time under a car port.

Not that I am aware of. I bought the Palisade out of state and conducted the transaction via the phone. On the original bill of sale they tried to include the paint and interior protection but I had them remove these items from the final bill of the sale. Did they apply the product for "free", I have no idea.

They may have already done it

I just bought my limited with beige interior 2 weeks ago (Mother's Day weekend) and had the interior protection put on and I have that garlicky smell as well. I park in the garage with windows up. Is this temporary and what have others done?

We have the limited Palisade with beige leather and the garlic smell gets stronger the longer we have it, the smell is so strong it makes us nauseous, dealership is trying to make it right we’ve supported the Hyundai brand for many years and this is the first time we’ve been disappointed, love the vehicle otherwise and all of the features.

Not really foul, but somewhat unpleasant. i wonder if it is a disinfectent used to sanitize the interior due to Covid.

Yes, garlic odor. We have to leave windows cracked while it’s parked in garage! It’s gross. I’ve called service on the wind noise. They say no fix yet. I’m waiting to take it in to address all issues.
