I also have OEM mats. I like them. No issues, but I'm a snowbird so sand is my only real issue. I can imagine with snow and slush the lips may be a bit low. Have WeatherTech in my pick up. Love them also.
I bought the aluminum pedals from eBay and they look identical. You take off the stock rubber brake pad and install the new pad, which takes just a little bit of muscling to get it on since you want to make sure it's on complete so it doesn't slip off at some point. The accelerator pedal is a layover, so that one is much easier.
