After almost 4 weeks of trying unsuccessfully to enter my VIN into the mapnsoft.com website, they finally loaded me into the system. The new map for Fall 2019 was just released last week. On the page where you can "place a new order", it says currently not available. This is the option where you can download and install the file yourself using a flash drive. The only other option available is to visit the dealer to perform the update.

Anybody else able to update on their own using a flash drive?

Unfortunately no. I got as far as you did but no further. Disappointing.

I contacted the HMA MapCare Store and I'm quoting the response:

"During development and testing we were made aware of some minor software bugs introduced with the v13.5 update on certain radios, of which your model year is included. As a precaution we have suspended the availability of those updates until the issue is resolved.

Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have an exact resolution timeline for this issue. I recommend checking your Mapcare account periodically, as you will see a blue "Place Order" button when the update is released. I do apologize about the inconvenience.

I did the update today on my Ultimate AWD. It was time consuming but no problems were encountered. It took about one hour for the download to my computer, one hour for the transfer to the usb stick and 30 minutes to install in the car from the stick. Despite the warnings that saved information may be lost, the radio pre-sets and map previous found locations were not affected. I haven't noticed any updates or new information in my area.

Sorry, no picture. I have an Ultimate AWD (Canadian equivalent to the US Limited I think)

I don't think there is any update other than the map. The rear AC still defaults to "off". I don't know about the pre-sets other than they were still there after the update. No release notes on fixes, but I expect the fixes (if they ever come) will be in an update to the car rather than to the infotainment system/navigation.

Here are the details of the new update from the "SW Info/Update" screen:

Model LX2AS.S5BMC.CA
SW Ver. LX2.CAN.55W_M.V003.001.190614
Firmware Ver. LX2.CAN.292.190613.MICOM.D
Nav App Ver. STD5W.NAM.HMC.190603.88dad734
Map Ver. NAM.12.47.44.510.205.3
Device ID 0638220642

After I got the file extracted and loaded onto an usb drive, I stuck it in the Palisade USB port and tried to update, but I get a message "Please check the device containing the update files and try again." When you downloaded and extracted the file, do you have to take the files out of the default folders or should the Palisade automatically find the files on the USB drive?

You should have installed the mapnsoft software on your pc. This downloads the data, formats your flash drive, and copies the files to the drive. When I inserted the flash drive into the car and turned it on, it recognized an update and asked to perform it. Be sure to use the usb port by the cupholders.
