I use the on-board navigation as a matter of convenience rather than using a navigation app on my cell phone. It's adequate (except for 3-D which is awful) except for one fatal flaw: when arriving at the destination, the audio doesn't say whether the destination is on the right or the left and the screen and HUD don't show which side of the road the destination is on either. None of my destinations so far have been located in the center of the road as this navigation package wants me to believe. Even my old Garmin audio said "Arriving at your destination on the right/left" and showed destination right/left on its screen. Does anyone know if future map updates will correct this?

When I read the heading and it says "Navigation Fatal Flaw" I expect the head unit in the Palisade exploded or took control of the vehicle like SkyNet from Terminator.
No, nope, note of that.

What we get is:
"when arriving at the destination, the audio doesn't say whether the destination is on the right or the left and the screen and HUD don't show which side of the road the destination is on either."

I am certain that does not qualify as a "Fatal Flaw". I will concede its a "flaw".

I'm sure you'll get over the disappointment. Now if you have something more constructive to say, I'd be happy to read it.

I'll double down on my statements. Because you like stirring the pot with blown out proportion statements.
You are using clickbait for a issue that IS NOT FATAL.

That is a constructive and accurate statement, unlike your fear porn, clickbait title.

I'm hoping for constructive comments that might address the issue originally raised rather than how I titled the thread. I understand your point. Other readers may agree with you and that's ok. Your concern over how I titled this thread sidetracks solving the issue. The thread doesn't have an edit function that allows the title to be changed. In order to placate your concern and possibly the concern of others, please just omit the word "fatal" whenever you read the title and substitute "Navigation Flaw". I'm more interested in staying on task.

The problem is not with the Palisade navigation system, But the software being used.
Some navigation software say the side of the street and I sure miss that in the new
software Hyundai uses. Not that long ago their software told us what side. Hope to
see that back in for an upcoming map update.

I sometimes get notifications of destinations periodically on the left or right. Today it just announced that I had arrived; not a big deal for me.😎

Jus returned from a navigated trip, it said it arrived at the destination, didn’t say if ti was on the left or right however the navigation icons do show the flag indicating the destination correctly. Not a big deal.

I have a ‘21 Calligraphy and I did not find that the “flag“ indicates right or left. I’ll pay extra attention today. I do find that some indication is a big deal for me as I need to know if I have to move into a left or right lane in heavy traffic.

I suggest to ignore the childish trolls.
Try, Setup-Navigation-Guidance-Voice Guidance- Uncheck ✓ Mute Voice Navigation Nearby Destination
See if that works.

Hopefully you learned the lesson how important is to not to use hyperbole. Of all the Pali issues I've read about, this is probably the least 'fatal'. It's like crying wolf; people don't appreciate that. We had enough of that crap for the last few years (and still going).

As far as that flaw, it's a minor omission man. Yeah, it'd be nice to be told which side your destination is, but not necessary at all. If you're paying attention while driving, you'd see it on time to move to the appropriate lane to get there. To be honest, I haven't even noticed the system didn't do that, precisely because I can see where the destination is when close to it.
