Had a chip in the window that I had Safelite come out and attempt to repair. That actually made it worse, as the tech said might happen during the fix. Had to schedule a replacement, which they had to do at their offices because of a camera calibration recall?

Pros -
Everything handled smoothly through web/smart phone.
Was quick (about a hour).
They do camera re-calibrations if done at their offices.
Palisade feels much much quieter with new glass
Cons -
Sent me a quote for what insurance paid, not what I owed, which seemed odd??
Safelite will hound you forever about their windshield wiper blades, which seems stupid as an upsell.

Getting our 3rd replacement tomorrow at Safelite (windshield #4). This last one was a very tiny chip crater, which on any other vehicle I've been able to address with one of the w/s repair kits auto parts stores sell. Just touching it with my finger made it crack and run about a foot. Starting to wonder if w/s is a poor fit and these are stress cracks - but that doesn't explain why so many impact craters. I think the glass is simply under-engineered.
I've had good luck up until the other day. I've even taken a few hits from rocks with no damage whatsoever. Then this little car goes to pass me on an empty highway and BAM, big chip in the windshield.
