I have been waiting for reply from dealership for some time now. This is a real issue. Whether aesthetic and/or a potential danger, it is not an issue I have ever experienced on factory (or otherwise) tinted windows. In sunlight, the haze severely limits the view from the windows on both rear passenger windows. The problem exists at all times. The quality is not what I would expect from a high end vehicle.

I have been following this problem since my purchase in late 2022, of an 2023 Calligraphy trim. There is a class action suite in formation by what I can tell - a 'reputable' firm.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I'm going to call the service mgr Monday for an update. I might email him a link to that site as well.

I went to my dealer yesterday for update but they have no solution yet. ask me to wait for their call. I think they are evaluating the issues as more of 2023 Calli are sold. more cases will be reported. it takes time to recall. if we want them to do faster. we can go for lemon together

For those with the rear passenger hazy windows, is it possible to drive facing the sun, the sun gotta be inside the windshield frame, which is mainly early morning or late afternoon, and check if the windshield is hazy and/ or you see a lot of dust like particles / specks?
My windshield and 2 front windows have heavy dust particles like that annoys me. I haven't got the chance to drive facing the sun for extended time but the few times i drove for couple of minutes they were noticeable but not extremely bad.

my dealer finally ordered a new pair of windows to replace for me next month. I am not sure whether they are newly made or from different patch . My doubt is how do I know the new replacement is acoustic laminated? I don’t know how to check

I have the same concern too - what I am planning to do is compare the thickness when the replacement one comes with what I have on the car - not very scientific but gives me some comfort than dealers words in we ordered based on your VIN so you get the correct one.. also most importantly check the new one in sunlight to confirm no haze - before dropping off for the switch..

True. I get the worst- high noon to 3pm. I didn't need to see any specs or particles. The glass is blue colored/hazy on the rear passenger windows. hold a flashlight outside the windows at a parallel angle in a low light area. best if someone is inside. compare front driver, rear driver side, and fixed 3rd row.

You will see the blue haze/layer. It is a factory flaw, based on the lack of complaints on the net - it has to be a bad batch of glass that QC at Hyundai either missed or likely ignored. Night driving makes this flaw a serious danger, unless line of sight is not important to you.

They said it’s only for some calligraphy not all - problem with a batch of windows! Anyway - I will look through the news ones to see before replacing!
Definitely check the window in bright / sun light before they install. Why tear out the trim to replace the same problem. The bad windows are blue and if you hold them up to the replacements and you don't see a difference i would wait until HMA issues an official recall.

The windows are covered under B2B warranty. They will replace them.
