You can set the height for how high the liftgate opens, it's in the manual.

Cameras will not stop it adjust the height hold the button its a no brainer.

 

When opening the liftgate from inside the car, can you press the button again to stop midway or best to set a different height or on manual. Just took delivery yesterday of my 2025 calligraphy and I'm paranoid when I go back to the city to my parking garage and I have to worry about what's behind the liftgate and what's above the liftgate. Thanks!

 

As a side note - individual cameras by themselves cannot measure distance. At the very least you would need a stereo pair of cameras - but even those are inaccurate. You need some other sort of ranging system which can measure travel time for transmitted & reflected signals. This is typically laser, infrared or microwave (which your smart cruise uses). This is well beyond the functionality or purpose of the camera for the lift-gate system. As mentioned above - go into the vehicle setting menus and adjust the gate height to the lowest setting (which is below the roofline of the car).
