I just placed my order for the new map version 14 update.
Today was the first day I have seen the order screen.
That price is nothing for the map and software update.

Minimum of $21 CDN to have it shipped on top of the $30 charge. I'll wait until the download is available unless someone finds out that it fixes the Android Auto widescreen issue.

Apparently there won't be a download option for this version. There will be a download for v14.5, planned for July.

I called mapnsoft this morning to get a cancel my order, now that a download will be made available. I took the opportunity to ask some questions about the update and I have some interesting news to share:

  • Map updates will now be free for vehicles from model year 2018 and up for 10 years. It will no longer be tied to the Blue Link subscription. After 10 years, they'll stop publishing map updates for the vehicle.
  • If you choose to get a USB drive shipped to you instead of using the free download option, it will be $25 plus shipping.
  • For pre-2018 vehicles, there will be no download available, but the price to get the USB will be $25 plus shipping. It will no longer be $145. That makes updates for my 2012 Sonata a lot more palatable now.
  • The reason for the delay in releasing this map update is COVID-19, as expected.
  • The reason for the back and forth about a download being available is that they've developed a new downloader for this update (hence the new 2018 and newer vehicles only restriction), and COVID-19 has restricted their ability to collaborate and get it done in time.
  • I didn't ask about that new Hyundai website and how it relates to mapnsoft. If I had to guess, that's what we'll use on May 15 when the download for this update comes out. We'll see.
Oh and they refunded me no questions asked, because the order hadn't shipped yet. I don't blame them at all for being affected by COVID-19. Just poor coordination of going live with the order page, and only mentioning the download option the next day. Anyway, problem solved.

Please keep us posted. I am really looking forward to see if the update changed the destination resolution based on access path instead of "proximation". my 12 year old Sonata nav does that but for some reason Palisade LTD NAV doesn't. My palisade tell me i arrived at destination in the middle of freeway, instead of taking the exit to the destination as it is closer. Same goes with my new home. my driveway is bit longer and home is closer to road from backyard than front. NAV takes me to street behind my house and its a dead end. i stopped using teh NAV completely as i can't trust it anymore.

Hopefully the route calculation on server will fix this.

Is this the new version 14? If so, how did you get it? I ordered the driver through Mapnsoft, but do not see a download option. My driver order is just sitting with "Mailing label created" since Monday, showing no movement. Thanks

The download will be available on May 15th. If you purchased the USB, it should ship any time.

I don't really see any difference after than before other than one thing. I used to set my destination before leaving garage. so far doesn't seem to work until I exit garage.
Order page says searches will now be in the cloud for faster more accurate routing.
Question! If they are going to do destinations in the cloud rather than in our on board info.
Then why would we need map updates??
Save your money and wait for the download update.
Update might be ok for some but I just waisted my money

Mine did the same thing with our last car on our home location. I wound up keeping my car at the end of the driveway next to the road when I set the home location. worked after that. Main road close to back of house messed it all up when I first did mine.
Hope this might help.
