My wife set up her Profile in the car (23 Pallisade) and programmed her seat location into the buttons on the door. My issue is that it appears that the door buttons are linked to the profile, so if the car is in her profile (Profile 2) then the door button settings don't remember my seat position. I have to first get in the car, start it, switch back to Profile 1, and then the door buttons will move to my seat settings. Of course I cant easily do that since the seat is so far forward (she is a lot smaller than I am), I cant even get INTO the car much less start it, wait for the Nav to boot up, then switch profiles.

Is there a way to tie profiles to a key fob so every time I unlock the car it knows it's Profile 1?

The seat memory is not locked to the profile or the fob. You must push the button on the door to change drivers seat position.

Except that is NOT working as it should. If the Nav is in Profile 1, then on the door button1 is my seat position, and button 2 is my wife's. If the car is in Profile 2, then BOTH button 1 and 2 go to my wife's setting. I have triple checked this behavior. The profile and the buttons are 1000% linked in my car.

Interesting.... sounds like you can save up to 2 seat profiles for every user. I should switch to my wife's user and see what happens.

Gwrapps, check your profile settings. When I first got everything set up in my 23 I had to consistently switch from guest to my profile. I switched key fobs & now all I have to do is confirm my profile. I can't say for sure that the vehicle works on key fob/profile specific but it sounds like that could be the issue. When you first get in the car, it should show you which profile to 'confirm'. Set all settings to profile 1 (assuming yours) & all settings to profile 2 (wife). This will include seat settings, volume control, AC temp, etc. You should also be able to select (seat) settings prior to getting in as you unlock it so the seat moves (prior to) in order to accommodate the specific user.

No matter what I do, the Profile is whatever was used last, so if my wife drives the car, the next time I get into it it asks me to confirm her Profile, regardless of which key fob I have in my pocket.

Did you set a Digital Key? I read that the digital key on the phone can auto-switch profiles but I cant seem to get that to work yet.

I just spent the last 45 min in my car testing. The key fob has nothing to do with the seat buttons or profile. No matter which fob I use or Profile selected, it doesn't matter. If I exit the car with Profile 1 enabled, then when I get back in the car (with either key), Profile 1 is selected. If Profile 2 is active when I exit the car, then the next time the car is used, it boots up as Profile 2.

The seat position buttons are linked to Profile. I finally got button 1 to be my seat position for both Profile 1 & 2, and button 2 is my wife's in both profiles, but it remembers the last button pushed FOR THE PROFILE. So if my wife uses Profile 2, and pushed seat button 2, the next time Profile 2 is selected, it auto "pushes" seat button 2. Likewise on my profile, if I get in the car and the car was in Profile 2 mode, if I were physically able to get in, turn it on, and select Profile 1, then it acts as if button1 is pushed and moves the seat to my position.

Unfortunately its not that simple as I cant get in the car with Profile 2 enabled, so I have to push button 1 to get into the car, but then I switch to Profile 1, so the next time after that my wife gets in and switches to Profile 2, it remembers that Button 1 was pushed last on Profile 2 and doesn't auto-move the seat, so she also has to press button 2.

I don't understand why they didn't just make these one and the same. Button should be Profile 1, and Button 2 Profile 2.

I am sorry to hear you're having that much difficulty with something that should be so (from the manufacturers) simple. And to answer your questions, I do have a digital key set up. I don't even have my BluLink set up or Nav yet. I'm not a tech savvy person lol

Just curious, is your digital key android or iPhone? Wondering if having the digital key changes the experience.

This doesn't help your profile issues, but you can set the settings in all profiles for the seat to move down and to the rear on all settings upon opening of the door. This allows my family (short to tall) to always be able to get in the vehicle and then select the profile for who's using the vehicle.

As for memory buttons in my case, Profile 1, 2 and guest all have their own button settings which is great as this allows my wife (profile 2), son (guest) and myself (profile 1) to have memory settings.

The digital keys are tied to a profile, so if I use my phone to unlock the door profile 1 is automatically chosen. Only exception is my sons digital key, as it is a "shared key", it cannot be tied to the guest profile.

ran into similar scenario this weekend, except my wife stored both seat memory 1 and 2 to herself on her profile...in her confusion, i am car profile 1, she is seat memory 1, she is car profile 2 seat memory 1. she thought she was seat mem 2 and programmed it as such. i switched to her profile, moved the seat back so i could fit in, programmed seat 2 to my height, all is good in world. I am seat mem 2 on both profiles now.

They are linked to the profiles. I had to go thru and set up a bunch of things (including radio channels) for each profile. It's too bad they don't give you the option to copy the settings from one to another.

That's actually quite a good idea! Open the door, and press memory 1 or 2 on the door, and the profile is accordingly automatically selected. Hyundai should take note.

I have a 2021 limited edition and I am always #1 on the seat setting and my fiancé is #2 and every time he drives my car (he can’t fit in the car to turn on car cause we r a lot different in size) so he hits #2 button and it deletes my seat settings every time. I love my car so much I refuse to let him touch it now to drive. I don’t understand how standing outside car with door open will delete me out of the seat memory but it does.

This is a place where they could have done better. In my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica (yes, 2006), everything was tied to the key. When I unlocked the car with my key, the seat, mirrors, radio, climate control all went to my memory position. When my wife used her key, the settings went to her memory positions. It was easy, trouble free and logical.

I am having the exact same problem on my 23 Palisade Calligraphy. We love the car, but this is quite frustrating. My wife is the last to drive and parks in the garage, then I am the next to drive, I want to simply hit "1" before getting in the car and have it go to my saved settings. It says on the instrument cluster "Seat 1 settings applied" but when I start the car, the seat moves back to the last driving position (in this case, my wife's) and it crushes me into the instrument panel. Only then, after I'm already in and the car is started, can I hit "1" again and it moves to my seat settings. Seriously, what the heck!???? Has ANYONE figured this out yet?

The only thing that I found that works is I programmed button 1 to my seat in BOTH profile 1 & 2, and my wife's is button 2 in BOTH profile 1 & 2. That took a while to get everything matched as close as possible. Now if she drives the car, when I get in I hit button 1 and it moves to my position. Once I start the car, I can then hit Profile 1 and if necessary push button 1 again if the seats start to move.

Hmmmmmm. I'll give that a try and post my findings. Have you noticed, does it mess up your side view mirror settings as well? My mirrors seem to move all over the place! I did some research and found that you have to have the mirror adjustment tab centered or each time you go into (R)everse, (with the tab on L or R) the mirrors will lower.....kind of a cool feature, but mine didn't really reset to my programmed driving position when I went back into (D)rive. I'm not sure if that's even related, but I assume the mirror settings are linked to the seat 1 or 2 settings.
This is our first Hyundai so.....maybe this is normal. It just seems pretty counter-intuitive.
