Why would anyone have asked that? You never mentioned Android Auto, or Apple Carplay, or phone projection, or even the word "phone" until I asked you what apps you were "adding".
Adding apps is something you've mentioned twice before figuring out that you needed a cable. At the risk of repeating myself, when connecting a phone to the system, it doesn't actually add apps to the car. They still run on your phone. So nobody understood what you meant.
Perhaps you should describe what you were trying to do a little more clearly, or use proper terms, as opposed to "add apps". Or, you know... read the manual first, which does mention that you need a cable. I'm not sure why you'd think otherwise since only 1 car manufacturer in the world has actually implemented wireless Apple Carplay.
