With any SUV like the Palisade I find one of the biggest factors for buying it is outright cargo space (and 2nd and 3rd row leg room).

Digging on the Hyundai site it looks like its 18 cu-ft behind the 3rd row (so the actual trunk area) and 46 cu-ft behind the 2nd row (with the 3rd row seats folded flat).

So far there is no info for space behind the 1st row (so total cargo room) but that's really not that important to me any way.

Looking at the Kia Telluride (which rides in the same platform) the Telluride cargo capacity is actually a little better. Maybe that boxy look actually makes for more space. The Telluride cargo capacity behind the 3rd row is 21 cut-ft, although it's no bigger after the 2nd row (with the 3rd row folded flat) at 46 cu-ft.

Kia does list total cargo room at 87 cu-ft so I expect the Palisade to be pretty much the same.

To give some perspective, I thought I'd check out the Honda Pilot, which is pretty much a class-leader in the segment. And Honda always finds a way to fit a LOT of cargo room in a relatively small package. After doing that, I'm impressed even more with the Palisade.
The Pilot is listed at 16.5 cu-ft of space behind the 3rd row and 46.8 cu-ft behind the 2nd row. I should point out that Honda has a little cubby under the floor that you can open up which changes those numbers to 18.5 cu-ft and 55.9 cu-ft.

Its great that the seats fold flat and that there isn't much of a load lip. Any idea if the seat release is manual or electric or where its located in the car?
The second row seats do have a one-touch button to fold flat, which is nice. The third row also has power folding and unfolding seats, but I think it might be only on certain trim levels.
Not sure where the buttons are.

I was at my cities auto show 2 days ago and they had the palisade - it was probably the mid level trim (1 moonroof, regular leather, captain chairs). I did see see the release and raise buttons back in the trunk area.

The Telluride has it. Safe to say the Palisade will as well.
Can't see why Hyundai won't offer it. At worst the cargo cover and other accessories will be delayed.

Telluride cargo cover
Thanks, Scotty.
I’ve since seen learned that the “roller shade” type cover stores in the compartment below the floor behind the third seats when all seats are up.

As mentioned, cargo covers are available. The Limited has a cover included w/ the car. I'm not sure about the SE or SEL version? The cover is stored in the hidden compartment in the trunk. I have not experienced any issues w/ it rattling due to bumps, or anything else.
