Hyundai Buy Back

Had anyone experienced this with Hyundai? We have a brand new 23 Palisade Calligraphy that has had MAJOR issues unfortunately. They gave us a buy back offer, unfortunately we cannot purchase a new Hyundai for that price bc of over MSRP from the dealership. I’m wondering if anyone has negotiated this and how it turned out. I’m pretty upset the dealership who we originally purchased from won’t waive the over MSRP. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place right now and I’m so frustrated. Also if you have had experience with this in the US, do you have to pay taxes on the buy back?

Thanks in advance.

You’ve had major issues with this manufacturer and you’re still looking to go back for more?!?! Lemon Law the thing and switch to a different manufacturer.
Just go buy a 2023 Honda Pilot. I personally like my Palisade better but this is valid alternative.
Find another dealer, you do not HAVE to buy from the same dealer.

Everyone around us in California is 3-7k over ask unfortunately and others that are at MSRP won’t sell out of their zip codes.

Not all in California. I got mine at sticker price in SoCal last November even got it earlier than what was promised, even got a deal on the extended warranty to cover all the cameras and electronics. But as far as the buy back definitely go to another dealer they obviously didn't care about your business to begin with if they can't work with you on the mark up
Would Hyundai do an exchange? So they provide you the same vehicle an even trade? It's worth asking Hyundai not the dealer. Just an idea.

Already tried that. And it’s sitting in the dealership. They won’t. I’m going to have to hire a lemon law attorney to try to get them to.

What dealership did you deal with?

Norm Reeves Hyundai in Cerritos, they took care of me.
Stepson is going thru Lemon Law with his 2022 Santa Cruz that has had numerous issues, engine, battery, drivers seat, door handle, etc. It's taking forever even though he has a Lawyer.

What's your Major issue?
I went through something like that when I bought my 2020 Limited in 2019. They bought it back in 2022 due to repeated transmission issues based on 2019 prices and no markups. So we ended up having to go down a trim to a limited 2023 instead of the Cali. Very frustrating but I cannot find a better SUV for the money even with the frustration. At least I know they will buy it back at some point.

Not sure where you're located, though. The zimbrick dealer in Madison, Wisconsin sells for MSRP. Recommend you give him a call. There's a great person there named Gerald. Check him out. He's been great to me.
