I installed eTrailer hitch #E95ZR on my 2023 Hyundai Palisade SEL over the weekend and it went smoothly. The hitch is well made, instructions were easy to follow, and all of the parts fit. I am very pleased with the results. I plan to tow a 17' Casita travel trailer with it. I have ordered the 7-pin wiring harness #S8F67AC800 from Hyundai Parts Pro in Thornhill, Ontario and I expect delivery in a few weeks.

Has anyone installed a "plug and play" brake controller that they recommend? It is my understanding that the connection is behind the fuse panel door on the driver's side. The Casita is a single axel trailer, and I would prefer a proportional controller. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

.I installed one of the etrailer hitches and the wiring harness from CA. I was lucky enough to order one back in December before they got backordered. I have a Prodigy P2 controller. I had it installed on my Excursion and will be moving it to my XRT. It is a good controller. I really like it.I have not installed it yet because I am still trying to figure out the best place to locate it. With that big console taking up so much room in the middle there are fewer options. I have also been looking at the redarc controller which just has the knob visible. Should be a cleaner install.

Nice. Mind that because the hitch is quite low it will drag on occasion.. and your anti rattle clip will hit first. Smearing the threads on the "U" bolt, (possibly bending it) and thus the nuts will no longer come off. Probably no big deal as it will still be possible to remove it just by loosening it..

I thought the 23 models came with the hidden hitch behind the bumper?
No. It was supposed to be standard on the XRT, but the parts are not available in the US, so they are not shipping with them. They are options on other trims, but not shipping on those either. The hitch and harness are not available in the US at this time. That is as a part number your dealer can order. You can get them in Canada, so the cars there might be shipping with them.

I bought my harness from Canada. It seems the hitch is now available, but due to size/weight not sure you can get it shipped here. At least one person tried to buy it where the harness can be bought, but they would not ship due to that. I imagine if you are close to the border you can hop over and get one.

Ohh, ok, thanks for clearing that up. I had been looking at the 2023 model here in Ontario Canada, and the dealer mentioned that the hitch was now hidden and came with the 7 pin, in order to avoid the nonsense with the 4 pin issue.

If you get one of the new hitches I am sure many people would appreciate pics of it. I know I would.

I currently have the 2022, with the hitch exposed. The reason I asked is
I may be getting the 2023 Calligraphy this June if the price is not absurd.
And one the highlights was the hidden hitch on the 2023 model.
I was confused, but you cleared it.

What would you like to know? It is installed. It works for lights. I have not installed a brake controller yet so I cannot vouch for that part. But since the other wires work as they should I will assume (could be a mistake) that the brake wire will work as it should also.
I misunderstood. It’s the controller you haven’t installed.

You remove that little storage box in the rear. Easy to remove. It is under there. They moved it inside the vehicle to protect it from moisture. You have to feel around for it, but it is where they show it to be. There are good pictures in the installation papers that come with it.. Thre are pics on here of others who have done the installation. Look for user CanadianBacon.

I have used a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 controller in my 2013 Toyota Highlander and it is now going into my new 2023 Hyundai Palisade to pull our 2013 17ft Casita. Works great.

Let me know how your Palisade does pulling the Casita. I just purchased a 2023 Hyundai Palisade SEL premium that has the tow features like self adjusting shocks. Just took it out in Townsend and up the parkway for lots of curves and climbs pulling a 2013 17ft Casita. Front wheel wells were 3" and back 3.5". Once hooked up front was 3.5" and back 2". Over the 25 mile test, Front was 3.25" and back 2.5". Vehicle handled well and YES no "porpoising" after hitting bumps. It handled like a tight shock absorbing controlling the Casita which means no weight distribution for the trailer.

Can anyone provide links to the official hidden hitch and 7 pin harness from Canada? I also agree with the request for pictures if anyone has it installed. Would love to see it. I've been periodically checking back in and that's the first time I've read that the hitch was available anywhere. Maybe I misunderstood the comment above but that would be awesome if that's now available to order. My dealer in NC said that Hyundai has no production ETA on when hitches will be available. Seems silly. Thanks.
