That panel in the middle of the rear bumper will be replaced with one that has cutouts for the reciever and plug. Will look like on the Tellurides. Some people have even installed the Telluride hitch and modified the panel themself. I don't imagine Hyundai will build a separate hitch for the Palisade when in the past they have shared parts with Kia. And the Kia part still bolts up no problem. The bumpers are different so the panel part from the Telluride will not fit.
I only need 4 pin. So, U-Haul works for me. Your need is different. The only problem is waiting for the OEM part to be available.I am aware that U-haul has an aftermarket wiring kit that does not spice the wires but it also does not use the Factory prewire plug either. For my 7 pin, U-Haul would install a 4-pin connector first, then use a 4 to 7 pin converter to make a 7-pin. They then have to run a power line from the battery back to the 7-pin. The OE Factory one is a plug and play type which I much prefer.

heres what i saw on the comments of the install video on a 22 telluride that had me ask you about the fit.. im not sure a 1/4" gap would even be that big of a deal, but i dunno. now im concerned again! It was an exact fit, no issues what so ever. The two chassis are identical, wiring harnesses are different.
Any chance I could get a part number from you on that wiring harness? I have a Stealth hitch waiting to be installed until I can find one.Just finished the install of a factory OEM Telluride hitch on my 2023 Palisade XRT. Turned out even better than expected. Still waiting for my Hyundai wiring harness from Parts Pro in Canada. I had to trim the removable panel which was the hardest part. Made a cardboard template then transfered View attachment 9347

to the panel and cut with a jigsaw. I think this is the intent of a factory hitch….not to look like it was added as an after thought.
I never noticed a gap on my install. Torqueing to the spec is torqueing to the spec regardless of a gap or not (my opinion of course). You certainly are not going to bend or flex the hitch material.heres what i saw on the comments of the install video on a 22 telluride that had me ask you about the fit.. im not sure a 1/4" gap would even be that big of a deal, but i dunno. now im concerned again!

I am in the process of installing this hitch on a 2023 Telluride and there is a gap between the hitch and the frame on the driver side. I first tightened the passenger side carriage bolts as the manufacturer's instructions said to do and when I went to tighten the driver's side 19 mm bolts, I noticed that there's about a quarter inch gap between the hitch and the frame, before I started tightening the bolts. Is that normal? I'm concerned about damaging the frame if I tighten these bolts all the way down.
ok. we shall see, my hitch arrives tomorrow. but my car wont be here until the end of the month!I never noticed a gap on my install. Torqueing to the spec is torqueing to the spec regardless of a gap or not (my opinion of course). You certainly are not going to bend or flex the hitch material.
thats cool.. i know people have done it. i talked to the guy that made that comment i posted and he put washers on it to fill the gaps..I just saw this pic on another Forum where another Palisade owner installed the Telluride hitch.

There were 4 bolts (no nuts) that went vertical in the frame and there were 4 bolts with nuts and washers that went horizontally through the frame (8 total)thats cool.. i know people have done it. i talked to the guy that made that comment i posted and he put washers on it to fill the gaps..
i do have another question for you. did you remember if your hardware included two carriage bolts? i noticed on the telluride install video his had two of em. i ask because i was just going to order the hardware kit from etrailer for one of their aftermarket hitches for the 23 palisades, and those are all just regular bolts.....

ah ok. two of his four that went horizontal were carriage bolts. i was surprised.. the ones through etrailer are as you say, four and four.. no carriage so thats why i asked... im sure ill figure it out.. this is still such a clusterThere were 4 bolts (no nuts) that went vertical in the frame and there were 4 bolts with nuts and washers that went horizontally through the frame (8 total)
There has to be a gap/clearance or else it would be hard to assemble. But 1/4 seems excessive. If.. it were mine I would split the gap with a full face 1/8 shim on both sides. Or, if I could determine the centerline of the hitch and the centerline of the car fudge the hitch to make both collinear with appropriate shims, possibly 3/16 on one side??heres what i saw on the comments of the install video on a 22 telluride that had me ask you about the fit.. im not sure a 1/4" gap would even be that big of a deal, but i dunno. now im concerned again!

How can a Company just ignore their customer and their obligations? They sell a product, and do not care if it works or not. Oh wait, they care enough to instruct their dealers to remove the fuse. This is dishonest and abusive. What is happening? Is this the hyunday we buy cars from? Count on me for any action.Since Hyundai USA does not seem to care to inform customers, maybe we can find emails or numbers for people at Hyundai headquarters who care that there reputation is being tarnished by this fiasco. I have also been trying to find emails for the different writers/magazine that give such glowing reviews to ask why they don't follow up on how bad this is. How the car is still advertised as a tow vehicle when you cannot get the parts. They are changing somethings.
I have had cases open for awhile. Last chat I asked if they were still going to provide me the hitch and harness when available since it was supposed to be standard on the XRT. They said it is not standard, but an option. I asked since when and they looked it up. Was changed in Jan. I told them I have copies of web pages showing it was standard. I even have an email from customer support agreeing it was a standard feature. I sent them all the evidence and waiting to hear back. On all trims but XRT hitch/harness was listed as option. On XRT was listed as a standard feature.
I call the dealer where I bought my 2023 Palisade yesterday. They said that their latest information was it. The hitch and the wiring harness were going to be available on April. They know that's wrong and they're trying to get answers again. How can a Company just ignore their customer and their obligations? They sell a product, and do not care if it works or not. Good for you, keep us updated on what happens. I got mine last September also and am totally frustrated with Hyundai's unbelievably long time to remedy the situation. I don't know how they would handle a buy back for me, since I traded my 21 Palisade in on it.I call the dealer where I bought my 2023 Palisade yesterday. After that call , I called Hyundai America. Had them send me to customer service and told them that the vehicle won't do what I wanted it to do because the vehicle was bought for towing. Having owned it since September 2022, they've had more than enough time to solve the issue. I said I wanted them to take it back. Surprisingly, without argument or comment they initiated a process of buying back the vehicle from me. Don't know where this is going or whether they're going to make a realistic offer, but I'm going to step forward through the process and keep folks up to date on what actually happens. It's sad. I really like this vehicle. But I want a vehicle that I can tow with and this isn't it.
There are 3rd party hitches out there. Curt is one mfg. eTrailer.com has the Curt and their own version. I bought the etrailer version. Looks exactly like the Curt, a different finish.Thank you! Very helpful! We just purchased a Burgundy Palisades w white wood interior (sorry don’t know Hyundai’s interior name) but can’t get trailer hitch from dealer due to still unresolved wiring harness recall. Are you saying a removable panel hides this hitch when not in use? I don’t need harness just yet, but want hitch for bike rack.
Did you review this whole post and see the pics and write up for the hitch I installed? There is a removeable panel put it does not hide the hitch like one would think. If you would like it completely hid, research the internet on a Stealth hitch. There are 3rd party hitches out there. Curt is one mfg. eTrailer.com has the Curt and their own version.
