Does a new car need to change the original engine oil every 1000 miles?

I don't know what kind of engine oil is installed in the new car. If you have to wait until 7500 miles, I believe it will not be driven for a year.

I do the first oil change at 1,000 miles, then every 7,500 miles or 1 year.

I thought that in a different thread you said that 0w20 was the original oil when the car leaves the factory.

我以为在另一个线程中你说0w20是汽车出厂时的原装机油。

That's the difference between Asia and North America
I changed my oil at 1500 Mile's and strained it to verify their wasnt any debris from manufacturing, plus it removes the break in oil. My oil was good. My next oil change is 7500 miles using the grade oil specified by my OEM owners manual, Full Synthetic. Good luck

I feel that that is the prudent way to go 23 also. Except annual full synthetic changes rather than miles driven as i go less than 7,500 miles and would be changing it out at about 3,750 anyhow.

This is true, I merely point out to those that may not be aware that "you" seem to have a fetish about oil.

I drive less than 7500 miles annually on this car. Since Synthetic does not break down like conventional oil, I change my oil in Oct of each year on each of my cars.
Is semi-synthetic acceptable if changed every 6 months which equals about 3,500 miles? My dealer provide me with lifetime oil changes every 6 months and that is what he used on my ‘23 Caligraphy.
A good quality Semi-synthetic oil I feel would meet those requirements and be a good choice if you want to change your oil at those increments. For me, if I was going to change my oil that often, I would ask the shop changing your oil to fill the oil cartridge housing with oil before screwing it back on with the new cartridge. Good Luck

Does changing the oil myself affect my warranty? Also what other things can be done without affecting the warranty?
I agree with doing the Oil Change Service closer to every 1k - 3k miles. I noticed in my Hyundai Blue Link app that they have modified my Service frequency to every 8k miles for the complimentary service. Seems like a scam.

The first Oil change should be done at about 1000 to 1500 miles that is the break in oil change and should be done to get rid of any metal from the oil system that happens when you break in the engine. from there it depends on driving conditions out in a country setting they recommend 7500 miles between changes but with city driving they recommend 5000 miles.

very good plan to get that break in oil out of there. They will tell you new engines don’t have to be broke in but being an old mechanic ANY NEW MECHANICAL ITEM will have a wear in factor, it’s just physics at work. I still change every 5000 though. Safe motoring.

No it does not void warranty to change your own oil BUT: You must keep all oil and filter receipts and stay within OEM recomended intervals. . Plus, on my Hyundais I use Hyundai Oil filters for they are good quality. Good Luck
