Dealers selling at MRSP

Hi, I am looking for either SEL Premium or Limited. AWD is a must for us as our family is up north. Looks like all dealers in my area selling at least 5k over MSRP. Please share your experience of dealers selling at or below MRSP. I am thinking at extending my search outside my state.

I think the days of below MSRP are gone…especially on the higher trim levels. It seems like MSRP is about the best you can do these days. If the car is on the dealers lot and not sold it probably has a market adjustment or dealer add ons. Just be careful when you look and call because there are dealerships that will offer it to you at MSRP but then expect you to finance with Hyundai at outrageous rates. If you try to use your own financing or pay cash then they tack on 10% to the sale price.
Bought my 2022 SEL AWD with Premium & Convenience for $3k over MSRP in central California (Oct ‘21). That was the best I could find then. (Other dealers wanted $5k-$10k over MSRP)

Thanks for sharing. 3k is reasonable in this market. I hope I can find a similar deal in my area. Getting an AWD in the south is a tough venture
I've just put a deposit down for the next allocation at a near by dealer for a DISCOUNTED price off of MSRP of $700 and an EXTREMELY generous trade in value for our 2021 Honda Odyssey EX-L. I will be posting a new thread to ask further questions on the allocation process......

Forgot to add that we're going for a Calligraphy in White with the Navy/ Beige interior.

Congrats! Did you place a factory order? Is so, what is the ETA? What prompted you to trade your recent Odyssey for the Palisade?
I just posted my new thread asking others specifically HOW the allocation process works. I don't have an ETA at this point. Just put my deposit down, and they placed an order for the next allocation they will get. Question on understanding the Allocation Process for ordering a new '22 Calligraphy

I have more questions than answers regarding the allocation process......

ANYONE with experience able to reply? Please look for my thread asking detailed questions...

While we had NO issues with our Honda Odyssey EX-L 2021 van, it was TOO good of an opportunity to get something of a higher trim level (Calligraphy) with a better warranty, and 3 years maintenance, etc, etc, etc not to make this deal. Moving up to a year newer vehicle, better warranty, included maintenance, and the RIDiCULAS trade in value ( more than we paid for it) as well as getting this up scale vehicle at a discounted price.....

thanks,

Winner Hyundai in Dover DE is selling at MSRP but requires financing through them, rates were competitive though, appear to be advertised hyundai rates no additional markup you can do better elsewhere for sure, but they're not packing the loan at least based on numbers we agreed on after they ran my credit, will see what happens when I sit down to sign everything when the car is delivered soon.
We got extremely lucky. Got our Hyper White Limited Beige interior AWD for MSRP and 0% from Hyundai of Escondido in 5/21. It was almost exactly what we wanted. Only compromise was having to get AWD, +$1600. Glad it is AWD. Since it was a fresh delivery, I demanded no ridiculous dealer add ons. Dealer now is charging +$5k over on the Caligraphy.
We got our Calligraphy under MSRP on 4/21 so I guess we got in just before all these markups started.
Long story short here. Back in 2010 we purchased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata from our dealer. The salesman was new and we were his very first sale. When we went and purchased the Palisade from the same dealer the same salesman is now the sales manager. When we went into his office during the sale he has a picture on the wall of my wife and I standing next to the Sonata as his first sale. I was surprised and pointed out the pic and handed him his original business card from the Sonata sale. He laughed in amazement and gave us $1,000 off the new Palisade.

You were effectively lucky. One dealer I dealt with recently was showing me a book with photo from other dealers showing how much they were charging over MSRP. I thought that this dealer would be able to offer me a decent price after all but I was all wrong! They tried to confuse me with all of their numbers to realize they were charging me 10k over MSRP. They said they were probing transparency which was obviously not the case. Each time I was asking how much the car was selling for then he was only giving me the final number and on top of that he was charging extra 2900$ for the AWD version. Very shady dealer.

In December 2021, we bought a Palisade Limited AWD from Deacon Jones Hyundai in Goldsboro, NC for MSRP and financed through Bank of America with no other dealer add-ons or charges. This dealer was 100 miles away from us, but our local dealers were all selling at MSRP plus three to five thousand for "market adjustment." One dealership we found was charging $9,000 for market adjustment!!! When all was said and done, Deacon Jones even delivered it to us for free! Do your research and you'll get exactly what you want without paying ridiculous fees up front.

I am living in the great area of Atlanta and you would think given the market size that it would be possible to find one below 5K markup but none of them are. Absolutely crazy. To make matters worse, they charge you additional fee for paint protection, PDI and what not which adds another 3K. I wish we could buy directly from the manufacturer!

Traveled about 300 miles to get ours at MSRP, but the dealer is in Ohio; so may be a bit too far if your live in Atlanta? If you're willing to travel, call Earl Weatherspoon @ Ron Mayhofer Hyundai (330-671-0448) in the Akron,OH area. Lots of Palisades incoming and if you find one with your specs; just put down a very small deposit to hold the unit. No dealer mark-ups, add-on's, etc.

I just got off the phone with a dealer in Maryland who has the exact color combo that we want.....Calligraphy in the Hyper White with Navy/Beige interior actually in stock, and another one coming in 2 weeks.... They too are at $5k over sticker, and I'm not willing to pay over MSRP.

I have a deposit down with a dealer who is discounting the vehicle by $700 plus giving me an outstanding trade in value for my Honda. Problem is that it's for a car that would be ordered and they are waiting for their next allocations to come out, so I don't know how long of a wait that might be.

Hi..I just stumbled on a white/ black Calligraphy loaded at a local dealership, and got it for no markup...a deal had fallen through so I was EXTREMELY lucky. I had ordered a Kia Telluride the week before and there was 10% mark up, and a 2-3 month wait (ugh.) It was financed through a local bank at 3.99%. It can be done if you widen your search I'm sure!
