Cargo Carrier

Good morning, everyone. Just signed up minutes ago, because I need to know if this has been addressed before. I bought a 750 lb. folding cargo carrier, that hooks up to the 2-inch receiver at the rear of the vehicle. I did not know this was going to happen, when I bought it, when put into reverse, it stops the car dead because, it senses an obstruction within 4 inches. I can eventually go in reverse by hitting the brake (which it is already stopped) and then gently engage the gas pedal to go backwards. Is there any way I can override this, so that t I can have a smooth engagement into reverse, without it coming to an abrupt stop. thanks, vettedino

This drove me NUTS until I read the manual! You have to push the button and hold for 2 seconds, you'll get a message on the cluster saying the rear collision system is deactivated. You need to do that every time you start the car.
