I heard similar reports of a weird sound.
Hopefully its just something that'll go away once the engine break in process is over. What are the odds it'll be an actual issue and not go away?

The wierd sound is due to it being gdi...gas direct injection. It is normal for this type of engine.
Not sure this is the right thread however if you can help that would be great. I am a Canuck (Toronto) and looking at the 2021 Palisade Luxury Trim. Can anyone tell me if it has ambient lightening. The Hyundai Canada website is vague in differences between Luxury Trim and Calligraphy. I need the 2nd row bench seat, and kids seem be all over the possible ambient lights (if available on Luxury Trim). Thanks for the help.

I believe it is the feature called "LED interior lighting" which begins on the Luxury model and up.
If you need a dealership/sales contact with good pricing, let me know. I paid invoice price for my Calligraphy, so got $3,289 off MSRP before a loyalty rebate. No dealer processing fee or anything, just $75 wheel locks which I was perfectly happy to give the sales guy when paying invoice.
Thanks greatly for this. I thought the “LED interior lighting” referred to the over head lights?? It does appear on both the specs of Luxury and Calligraphy.

I'm not 100% sure on it and agree it sounds like that. But I don't see why the overhead lighting would be different in any trims. Haven't seen such a difference called out in any American videos I've watched.
Again, I could be wrong, but it's a feature I would imagine they mention specifically and that's my guess on what they're calling it.
Edit: there is a separate line item that says "Central dome lights with delay and auto cut-off"

Mookle, I can confirm the Luxury trim level does not have ambient lighting. I had it on my Lincoln and admit that I do miss that feature. I understand that even the Calligraphy trim in Canada does not have ambient lighting in the foot wells of the 1st and 2nd rows....could be wrong on that though. I suspect this popular feature will be added at the next cycle refresh.

Thanks Blistry! I appreciate it. I really need the 2nd row bench so the Luxury Trim is the highest I can go. This is a big move for us as I have driven Lexus(s) my whole adult life. Guess we will just have to miss the ambient lighting and move on. Looking forward to the Palisade so far I have been very impressed.
