Back doors stay locked at home

Love my 2022 palisade but ready to take a hammer to the back doors. Have auto unlock set to “on park”. Setting screen specifically says “all four doors”. But most of the time in our garage i find the back doors locked from outside. It’s infuriating because i often need to open back doors first. Not important or interesting why. What am i missing?

Yup, same thing happens to me. Can't tell you how many times I have had to open the front door and hit the unlock button.
In the garage is the problem. The Safe Exit Assist feature is activated because the sensors think the walls or stuff in the garage is another vehicle, it will not unlock the passenger doors. Check out the Safe Exit Assist feature in your manual and see if that could be the problem.

Do you shift to Park first before turning off the engine or do you just hit the Start/Stop button? I found that if I don't shift to Park before turning vehicle off, the rear doors will not unlock. Happened a few times to me.

Wouldn't that only be from the interior door handle and not the exterior? The Safe Exit doesn't disable the outside door handle AFAIK.

Does it happen all the time, or randomly? Is it both back doors? Does it actually only ever occur in your garage and nowhere else?

It could be a settings thing, which would be likely if it happens all the time on both doors.
If it's random, and only on one door, then it could be a sticky door actuator or latch, etc., and dealership should be able to figure it out.
The logic behind locking/unlocking is truly bizarre.. and inconsistent. It's the major gripe I have with my 2022. Mine is the trim with the key and I have lost track of the number of times I unlock all the doors with the fob, open the passenger side door, seat my passenger and then find the back door passenger side locked.
