2026 with 3.5 non turbo. Interesting! I'm a bit of a maintenance nut and actually read parts of the owners manual. It states that 0W20 is the oil to use. After questioning the hyundai service manager, he states that they use 5W30 . So just for fun, I called hyundai customer service. They told me 0W30. Crazy situation. On line oil company inquiry have all stated 5W30. For warranty purposes I will use the dealer so if a issue arises it's on them. Interested in what other 2026 owners are going to use/do.

Given the bad advice in the OP, I would NOT take an "it's on them" attitude. I would show them the manual and insist they use the 0W20 oil described there.

I would also insist on synthetic oil. The manual states that if you use non-synthetic then the 5,000 mile severe oil interval applies. I maintain that nearly everybody should use the severe intervals regardless, but this low confidence in non-synthetic oil tells me it should not be used at all.

While you're at it confirm they are using oil that meets the ILSAC GF-6 / API SN Plus standards as stated in the manual, not some old GF-5 oil.

0w-20 only give you a few tens of a mpg advantage. 5w-30 will give you marginaly more protection under heavy loads in the southern part of the country. If you read the specs, they over lap as the high end thickness of 20 weight is hight than the low end of 30 weight. Stick with synthetic and if you love your car change it at 5,000 miles. Longer intervals gum up the oil control ring causing increased oil consumption.
