I sent eTrailer.com a message asking when they might have the hitch that fits in behind the bumper on a 2023 Palisade.

This was their response: We are still waiting on the hitch and wiring fits for the 23’ Palisade to be released. Hopefully will get them before October but I do not know for sure.

I ordered the 7 pin wiring kit from Hyundai (in Canada) it it came in about 4 days. Part number S8F67 AC800. It was $200 plus tax just for the part. I just finished installing it. So the 2023 is prewired for the hitch with a 8 pin connector, that looks just like the one on previous years, but it's in a different spot. You have to remove the trunk tray and then look under the driver side luggage panel. You have to connect the wiring harness to that, then cut a hole in the grommet to send the trailer hitch wire down to where the hitch is. You also have to wire up a little control module and ground it. It was all way easier than I thought. The liner came out easy and the panels all popped off without much fuss. The instructions that come with it are really good. The kit also comes with a harness that installs in the dash by the fuse panel for a brake controller. I don't have one though so I didn't install that.

This is what it looks like with the trunk tray removed (right is front of vehicle). The grommet is in the top right. You can see where I cut it to run the wire through it. You can also see the corner of the white pre-wiring harness to the right of it. Not sure why they hid it there, it would be way easier to access if it was just left in that panel underneath the car. The control module is on the left.

The kit didn't use the wiring harness that is located tucked up under the bumper, so I'm still not sure what that is for. See below.

I have been told over and over the previous years connector is not the same I have actually returned a few as well. I have been all around and under and in this thing including taking the back apart inside and have not seen any connector like that. In your top picture, where is the connection for the harness? Thanks!!!

Thank you for the info. Unfortunately the local dealer says that is an invalid part number. Did not realize they would be different between CA and US. Could you post a pic of the instructions for removing the tray. I took the screws loose but it is still in there tight. Do not want to force anything and break it.

That part doesn’t fit the 2023 palisade calligraphy And e trailer doesn’t have it and they are telling me it’s been discontinued before they even manufactured it so do not believe what they are saying. As of know there is no wiring for this vehicle

What do you mean difference? Sounds like there are 2 connection points, 1 under the bumper that has not been made yet, and one that uses the same connection as previous years inside under the back luggage are. The one under the bumper is the long one where the one under the cargo area is more square. Use aftermarket harness. Then no recall worries.

Since they have different part numbers I assumed there is a difference in the harness from 2022 to 2023. Probably just changes to the module so it is more waterproof and moved to a drier location. It appears the plug behind the bumper is not used, since CanadianBacon installed in the 7 pin without it. I am assuming everything is working correctly.

Just got back from dealer and they have no more information on when harness/hitch will be available. They cannot even look up part number S8F67-AC800.
But when tech was looking at info for wiring and such he does have the updated information for where the harness plug is on the 23. Right where CanadianBacon info showed it to be. And it is a different plug from 22. Did learn something though. The diagram for the 22 plug showed wires for brakes/lights/turnsignals/brake lights, etc. Like most wiring has. The diagram for the new plug shows wire for brake current/ground/etc, but no wires for lights. It has CAN bus wires. So that new module (which is much bigger than the previous one) must have the smarts for communication on the CAN bus and picks up info for lights/signals from that. And then generates the proper output on the wires to the trailer plug.

The one under the bumper is not the one you want. In the third picture, see the wire going through the rubber grommet at the top? Feel around up and around that wire. You will find the connector. There is not a lot of slack to pull it out. But the harness is designed to connect to it right after coming through the grommet. And then the wire feeds over to where you install the control box.

There is no wiring kit for the 2023 for a trailer, which really sucks, I have been on with e-trailer since i got my palisade 2023 model. so they tell me know they are not making a wiring kit plug and play. and this teknosh or what the name is was sold to another company. and they will not be making the wiring kits. i have been trying since sept. 2022 and got nothing. So I am still waiting for a kit and Hyundai has no idea what they will be doing. The trailer hitch itself fits all of them but no wiring, it does SUCK. And there are no fuses in the panel or can you even add them., they have been deleted from the vehicle.

I have a 23 Caligraphy and need to pull my boat. Called Hyundai customer dis-service and they apologized for knowing nothing about anything. Called Stealth Hitch and they said the small white connector under the storage compartment is inactive. Hyundai is negligent in handling the whole hitch situation and has caused harm to owners. Does anyone know of an active class action suit regarding the hitch? If not, it is time to start one.

StealthHitch is wrong. I bought the part from Canada. I installed it and it works as advertised. I also installed a redarc brake controller and plugged it into the plug under the dash. That works also.

Although I do agree the way this was handled is terrible. A real black eye on Hyundai. In my conversation with customer service they acknowledge how bad this is. And say that Hyundai knows this and is working hard to fix it. I personally would like to know why it is such an issue for the 23 since they are not part of the recall. A suit may be the way to go to get some resolution. I wish some of the car magazines that did such glowing reviews would do a follow up. Maybe they could get some information out of Hyundai.

UPDATE: Just received my wiring harness from Hyundai Parts Pro in Canada (ordered exactly two months ago). I can confirm that it is the same plug style that appears under the luggage sub-floor, and includes the 7-pin connector and all installation hardware and documentation. Excited to get it installed now!

HARNESS AND HITCH AVAILABILITY - USA!

The Hyundai USA site listed the 2023 Palisade harness last Wednesday and the instruction sheet. Says the hitch is not available until Fall '23. The harness install sheet is listed there for download and it shows the PN's for the hitches as well. hyundaiaccessories.com (Listed the new harness PN S8F67-AC700)

I found several USA Hyundai parts sites showing the new harness S8F67-AC700 and S8F61-AU300 Hitch Calligraphy with bumper cover for sale. I canceled the S8F67AC800 Canadian harness I had on order and ordered the USA version part number last Wednesday and it is delivering to my home tomorrow (Monday 8/14/23) hyundaipartsdeal.com

Knowing the hitch is not available yet S8F61-AU300, figured I'd get my name on one anyway. Ordered it too via hyundaipartsdeal.com Sales contacted me and said not in production till October and I asked to keep it on order and they did. Two days later, they canceled my order stating the PN is not valid. Unless there will be a PN revision, Im guessing they do not want or cant order a not yet in production part number. So, I will keep checking each week to see if it can be ordered or if there is a new PN.

Hope all this helps.
