2023 Trailer Hitch

I just ordered a new 2023 Calligraphy with the tow hitch. My salesman said they have a new hitch on the 2023 that is hidden behind the bumper and has a removable panel to access it. Does anyone have any pictures of it?

I think may people are. And it seems that is what Hyundai is coming out with. There is a picture somewhere here in the forums. I put the Curt one on for now. But it was so simple I will swap it out for a factory one when they are available.
Can you post a few pics of the fitment?

When I get chance, travelling now. But if you go to etrailer . com they have nice installation videos and pics of the hitches installed. just search for a hitch for a 2022 palisade. It is the same hitch and looks the same.
I got tired of waiting for Hyundai so I bought a curt hitch. Going to install it tonight. It was on sale for $240 shipped from etrailer

I ordered the Curt hitch from etrailer.com. I should have it by this thursday they said.
If you want a hidden trailer hitch this is the way to go: 2020-2023 Hyundai Palisade

Those are nice looking. Note that with the 2" receiver you cannot tow. You have to get a separate ball mount accessory for towing. Want to point that out because on most other hitches you just put a ball into the receiver and away you go. And this still requires you to do some wiring from the front. Not plug and play.
Yes…unfortunately the 2” receiver accessory is not tow-rated. Consequently, you need to purchase the tow combo package to get the ball hitch accessory and wiring harness. This increases the price significantly. However, this hutch can be installed easily in about 2.5 hours with basic tools and knowledge. Best option for a clean look.

I had considered getting this hitch. It is a nice option. But I would go with the harness from Hyundai, not the thing they have were you tap into wiring. Still waiting for the new hitch from Hyundai. I have hope that they will give me one for free since the XRT was supposed to come with it standard.

If you get a free one, please report back since I also have an XRT.

I picked up my Cali 2023 last year up here in Canada. I have included the hitch in the deal, but same as all of you I haven't seen it yet. Update I got from my dealer today:

1. he confirmed that the OEM harness is available. The lead time is now about 4 weeks and if it wasn't included in my original price current price is ~400 CAD
2. The OEM 2023 hitch still doesn't even have an estimated date on it.
3. The biggest shocker is the price of the new hitch: if you haven't ordered it with your car and you are just about to do it now, it will run you almost 1,000 CAD (original price was 595 CAD)!

I don't know what the heck is Hyundai thinking with that hitch. First they are selling a vehicle with tow rating but with hitch and now they are charging 3x the market price for it. Mind you, still not telling us when it will be actually available. I hope it will be made out of gold and will add at least 10hp. Automated foot massage would not be bad option either.

That price for the harness is a lot more than what people where buying it online for. I paid less than 170 US.

I think he probably gave the price including install. This would explain the harness cost to some extent but the reciever price is bunkers either way.
What does it take to install the wiring harness? It, is a plug-in, add a few cable ties and it's done. Took me a mere 15 min tops on my 2022.. can't see where the 2023 are that much harder. The whole hitch assemble took no more than a couple of hours to install... by myself..in my garage.. and I'm 77. Took me longer to make a custom mount for the 7/4 combination trailer plug than the actual hitch installation.

The 2023 is a little more time consuming because they moved the installation inside the car. Before you just removed that plastic cover behind driver rear wheel. Now you have to also remove that storage tray inside, but that only takes a couple minutes. It should not take more than 30 minutes. I also did not follow the directions exactly. They call for removing plastic trim on the left hand side to get to the bolt used for a ground. I just extended the ground wire and connected to one that was easier to get to. One thing to note that I did wrong. I installed the harness several weeks before I got the hitch. When installing the support for the trailer plug after installing the hitch I realized you need to feed the wires through it and I was not going to disassemble things. So I just cut a small slot in the plugs bracket. Did not affect performance since it has screws on all 4 corners. So for the cleanest install have everything on hand and ready. lol

You know it, I know it, everyone here knows it... and dealer will try to charge you 3 hrs shop time at 100 to 150 CAD/hr anyway
I called Hyundai USA customer service. They told me there is a recall on the harness as they found out if water got into the module it could start an electrical fire. No ETA on when they will resolve the issue. I told them to encase it in silicone, and done lol so my wife went to the dealer today as she is really pissed I can’t tow my boat. The dealer said oh we can outsource it and get it done that way. They will install the hitch and you can get the wiring harness when they are available or let them wire it. The hitch package is owed to me as it was something I negotiated during the sale. She asked is it warrantied by Hyundai they said no. So I told her to ask if something happens to the vehicle while towing since it’s not their hitch will it be covered? NO! So I told her well I guess we are waiting even longer now. He also told her they stopped manufacturing the hitch until the wiring issue gets resolved which I think was bullsh*t. I think all of us owners need to start a campaign against Hyundai for misleading us, saying something is available and now it is not. How hard can it be to fix this wiring module! pissed in Florida!

Open a case with the FTC for false advertising. I did.

These photos from Danny Segal post on the FB Palisade group using the Telluride hitch on a 23 Palisade. I have the same hitch on my 23 limited. S9F61-AU000
. BTW the Stealth branded hitch setup does not allow for weight distributing hitches.
