Has anyone had a new over the air update to the software or maps yet ?
Are the Radio tubes gone ?

Don't expect any software updates until the next scheduled release in October-November.
I hope the radio tubes stay. It’s the most attractive part of the infotainment system.
I kinda wish they’d carry that theme as a gauge cluster option.

I thought the radio tubes disappeared in the last update.

My 2020 Palisade never had radio tubes. Seems to be on all the 2023 videos though

If your 2020 never had the tubes then you skipped some updates.

If it didn’t come over the air then it didn’t get updated.

2020 doesn't come over the air, you have to do it manually. You are four or five updates behind.

All I get is vacuum tubes?

When you turn on the radio the background is old fashioned radio tubes.

Yes, but what else does the 4 updates get you other than radio tubes?

The radio tubes disappeared in the update last may. The updates improve the voice recognition and many other things plus they update your maps.

All the YouTube videos for 2023’s show the tubes so…
Either way I can think of a lot more things that need updating than changing the tubes back and forth.
Quite frankly I never used voice recognition as it just goes through my iPhone and usually just use Carplay.

All of the 2023s are shipping with old software from last year. That’s why they still have the tubes. Those should go away when they get their first update this fall.

Mine should be in next week. I’ll just not update this one like the old one so I can keep the tubes.

With the new Over The Air Updates on the 2023 you may not have a choice, it may be automatic.

Doubt it. My other cars are OTA and you have to accept it. Hyundai isn’t sending anything safety related, just some infotainment stuff.
It doesn’t make much sense to get new features just to take others away.

Tubes aren’t a feature.

You will gain the ability to reorder radio presets with the next update too.

Tubes are a graphical improvement. It doesn’t make sense to add them then drop them two updates later.
I didn’t even realize reordering presets was a thing I couldn’t do because I never had the desire to do it.
Now it would be cool if they update the maps to get rid of the school zone to a school that closed down 20 years ago and is now a Home Depot. How they ended up with map data that predates the car by 18 years I don’t know.

Now one feature worth upgrading for would be getting rid of hd radio for traffic and weather and stream it from a source that actually exist all over the country.

I doubt the gauge cluster can be updated, but it would great if they put the same blind spot info that’s on the HUD on the gauge screen.

Also this is more of a hardware fix but I’m hoping they fixed the HUD to work with polarized sunglasses since my 2020. The Palisade is the only car I can’t see the HUD in the daytime.

No offense, but you're in the minority. The vast majority of people hated the tubes, as you can see if you browse Hyundai forums all over the net. It takes up screen real estate for no purpose. The new layout makes the song info more visible. And most people want to order their presets by order of preference, not what the system decides. It's not possible to satisfy everyone, unfortunately.

I don't know why your local map data is incorrect. No map provider is 100% perfect, not even Google. You can report map errors here: Hyundai Mapcare | Customer Login

HD radio no longer provides weather data. It's done through Bluelink now. I think you still get the doppler radar pic through HD radio, but the weather widget is internet-based for sure. As to traffic, if you use the nav, it uses Bluelink as well and can re-route you dynamically while driving. I've experienced it several times, including in the middle of nowhere, where no HD radio was likely available. Recently, it even prompted me to explain that the traffic conditions have changed, which is new.

What blind spot info do you want on the gauge cluster? The icon showing you that there's someone in your blind spot? The one that lights up in the mirrors and HUD? I mean, I guess, but why? It's already plenty visible where your eyes should be, which is not the gauge cluster if you're trying to change lanes (one reason I find the blind spot video feeds gimmicky: the last place I am looking at when changing lanes is the gauge cluster).
